Hi Cathy I am Kathy in Melbourne. I just joined this site. I lived in Barlick and went to Gisborne Road School then almost a year at Skipton High before moving to Melb. also in 1964. I just had 5 weeks in the Uk in Oct/Nov 2004 and visited Barlick and Skipton a few times and really enjoyed renewing my memories. I remember riding my bike to Bluebell Wood, the locks and walking throught the quarry in the frost. Gathering rose hips for school and watching the chart grow. I'd forgotten about the malt. I remember sledging down the street parallel to Edith St. and catching fish in the stream near RR. Catching the steam train to school at Skipton and walking across the park in the snow. I have also reached a stage where I value living in the moment and enjoying life.
