CHRISTOPHER BAXTER: Farmer at Mill Close - now Victoria Park groundsman's workplace. Baptism not discovered. William Drake sold Mill Close to Arthur Tempest in 1732.
A History of Barnoldswick by Warner, (1934): 1748 Terrier: yearly rent of Mill Close £9, tenement of which consists of an house and barn joined to it. 1825: Mill close farm and house (latter apparently as vicarage) and ten acres of land. Sold in 1920 to Barnoldswick U.D.C. for £4,000.

Simon was a yeoman and was eldest son & heir. In Pendle Deeds, 24 July 1745, he sold Cow Pasture, two closes, 3 & half acres large measure, to John Wilkinson for £77 10s.
