No definitely not. I could never eat anything knowingly which I had seen alive. We used to get a turkey from Roger Stansfield from his farm, and he would tell me to go and pick one but I could not do that.

I know what you mean. I could eat bacon from my pigs or an old hen while I was at Hey Farm but not the beef we reared.
Gravy from the pork I roasted on Monday separated, fat into deep fryer and rest had veggies, onions, some pease pudding base and seasoning added. Cheap tasty soup.

Ham shank boiled until almost falling from the bone then put in a hot oven to roast off (soaking as we speak) with chips & mushy peas tonight.

Had neck of lamb, veg & dumplings last night. There was quite a lot of gravy & veg. left - too good to throw away, so I have skimmed the fat off and the only meat I have is some casserole beef so I have thrown that in the slow cooker - hope it will taste OK!

The casserole was lovely, just added a few more veg & potatoes, made a crust and we had meat & potato pie. Trouble is there is still some left, so another potato, two small dumplings and hey presto another meal.
