Nandy Gigglepants is thinking about purchasing a brewery on Tinternet in Scotland. I have volunteered to research the brewery and area with him and I thought with Stanley's knowledge of the islands he would be able to find Tinternet for us. Then I was struck with a thought - what about a coach trip for the lads?
Hire a coach, a few crates in the boot, up the M6 and away. Tour a couple of distilleries, drink a few pubs dry, find Tinternet, help Nandy buy the brewery, convert to producing Traycle Ale and whoopee!!
Any of you lads up for it? Nolic

Nandy, will you buy a distillery as well as I have this idea for a spirit based on ..............ouch!!!

Stanley, can you move this to the general forum as with it being in the recipes some of the ladies might read it and think I was purposefully excluding them from a lads trip.

I bet Stevie can handle herself. Remember when the hardest bloke in Barrowford was a woman ! What a lot of wimps you locals must have been.... but on the other hand she still looks pretty formidable, especially on that beast she calls a horse!! Nolic

In Rochdale they used to call them 'Friday Nighters'. I once asked why and the bloke said look at it this way, if she says it's Friday night it is!

My reply was obviously tongue in cheek, and I forgot to explain how I really feel about women being exluded from certain social gatherings, so here goes;

Stan, I suspect your appreciation of womens company has a lot to do with the fact you are able to choose the time and place you mix with them. One of the bonus's, my guess, of being single! Mmm I wonder how you would feel if some old dear with her poodle decided to join you on every occasion for the 'Wild Bunch' conventions up on Letcliffe?
..... I hasten to add I do not own a poodle nor am I as yet an 'old dear'

I completely understand both Oilcan's and Nandy's wish for the occasional 'Men Only' event, when they can please themselves what they do without having to take into account how their 'other half' is feeling. My husband played football on Sunday mornings from the time I met him up until about six years ago, they trained on Wednesday evenings and I know that he still misses both the football but more importantly the camaraderie of those 'Men Only' meetings today!

Before we moved away, myself and my buds used to have the occasional 'girls' night out and I miss them dearly, as we had so many laughs.

So Oilcan, no slap on the legs intended, and as for being described as 'small, but fierce' .......... never, me Im just a kitten who happens to yowl a lot!

I've always had more time for women than men. Don't ask me why, might be because they usually talk more sense. Nothing bores me more quickly than conversations about cars, sport and sex.

The lots all kna****ed up!!!Household authorities took a look at this thread last night. Not only was I banned from the PC but I told I can't go to Tinternet unless she comes along as well. She then muttered somthing about sisters sticking together and Stanley being a sound bloke and said she was going to come on the site and sort the rest of us all out 'cos I said I'd been egged on by Nandy and BJ.
Kids pleadings about PC and homework seems to have put the latter in the shade but she's firm about the trip.
Anybody else want to organise it? The last time the household authority went on a lads trip Burnley were playing Wolves at Wembley in the Sherpa Vans Trophy. We got banned from Welwyn Garden Village 'cos she drunk a pub dry of gin and took on all the locals at arm wrestling - and won! I'm too old and frail to cope with the consequences of her on a lads trip. Nolic (wimp)

Oh no we can't, I want to get the chance to congratulate Mrs Nolic on her good taste. Does Gudrun take after her as well?

Gundred has slightly less control than the household authority which means her sparking is reasonably predictable. The other one is a bit sneaky ... keeps quite when you expect a storm, then explodes when you least expect it. She is trying to train Gundred to be a little more subtle in her approaches which means mini Another and me just keep our heads down.
The trip has reared its head again as Gundred heard the authority talking about a trip with a motley crew. Gundred now thinks she's missing out on touring with a band called Motley Crue and is creating merry hell. Anyone got a spare bed, Nandy old pal???...its your fault anyway for putting the idea in my head.
Anyway on a slightly different theme I was down the cellar painting the cat as Nandy suggested and came across this old copper posser bottom an old barrel and some rubber gas tubing. I'm in the process of finishing off the still so I'm out tonight to the secret location near Pendle Water to get a nice supply of the black stuff so that I can start fermenting.... watch this space.
Nolic (starting to get his nerve back after the trauma)
By the way Doc, I Spell puts up a good word as an alternative to posser!!!

Be careful with the Still and Treacle combination Nolic, remember what happened last time. . . . .

Did the council ever get round to filling the crater in, or is it being used for landfill ?

Andy. 3 miles away, so I should be safe here.....

Colin, I just came across this elsewhere, you are not alone....

"In the beginning, God created earth and rested. Then God created man and rested. Then God created woman. Since then, neither God nor man has rested"

Not a chance in hell Oilcan me old drum!

Firstly, welcome aboard Mrs Oilcan and please may we have some postings from you about life with Oily and the little Cans?

Stan, admit it, you prefer womens company as you get to do the talking and they get to do the listening ... as is their place!

No Stevie, you are quite wrong, in latter years I have been told that the reason why I am so good to be with is because I actually listen to women. Honest, I can give references!!

I like Gudren and Motley Crue.......
