Just wondering what you are all having for Christmas Dinner...

Temperatures in Adelaide (South Australia) are in the mid 30's.
(So forget the traditional English Roast with all the trimmings! The food will be eaten COLD!)

We are having our big family get-together tomorrow...Christmas Eve...with our combined children, their partners, and Febby's grandkiddies. We will be sitting outside, under the Wisteria covered back verandah. It will be stinking hot, but shady.
So today, was the big 'fresh food' shop. Also collected the twin Chicken Breast Roll (roasts) that I had ordered at our specialist Chicken Shop. Have spent the afternoon preparing and peeling 2 kilos of prawns, and roasting the Chicken Breast Rolls, and preparing Potato Salad etc (lost count of the number of loads of washing up so far, but have exhausted six Tea-towels in the process).
The first trimmings of the roasted chicken went in to a bread roll each for Febby and I for dinner (as we both so busy, we forgot to have lunch...me in the kitchen and him in the garden doing the lawns and edges).
We also had to do the trip to the grog shop...

Glass of Red Wine now in hand, and the kitchen lights have finally been turned off for the night. Time to relax!
For us, Christmas is coming! One more sleep...

So what are YOU up to?????

P.S. It all got a bit hot...all that work...with my head wrapped in thick alfoil...but we cannot risk being 'tapped into' at this time of year. It helped to be only wearing knickers and apron.

I've had mine....  My dinner on Xmas Day will either be a smoked bacon butty or a sirloin sandwich. Decisions, decisions.....

We shall be at our grandaughter's house with her family, her brother and his family will be there.  We are having turkey with the usual trimmings followed by trifle or chocolate cake if anyone has room.

Too true I will Belle. Eve is so excited because grandma and grandpa and Mummmy are taking her to the childrens farm and nativity, bot daddy or Briony, just us. She asked Julia if there will be cuddles and kisses from grandma and grandpa. When she was told yes she was leaping up and down . I can't wait.

Having it all laid on by my sis-in-law and bro, who are both excellent cooks.

Not for us dried turkey and overcooked brussels sprouts! It'll be cordon vert at its finest ... can't wait!

Marilyn the mind boggles. Are you only wearing knickers and an apron for real. Please submit a photo. Thankyou.
