As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

Yep, all done, you've passed the test! (Just in case anyone out there is confused, the web site is all Conor's work - I just PM'd him with a few grammatical mods, being the old pedant that I am.)

Post an image or the text of the draft card on here if you like and the combined forces of OGFB will give you their advice!

Give a thought to how you intendto use the cards. Don't think you have to follow the traditional size and shape of card - I was given a business card recently which is a bit bigger than normal but when the bloke gives one out he folds it in two down the centre like a greetings card. That way the person who receives it can sit it on their desk - it encourages people to keep the card out and visible rather than stashing it away somewhere in a drawer. The text and any graphics can be positioned on the card to suit the folded state.

Perhaps it's not business cards you want but postcards. Many businesses now use postcards to promote themselves. You could have one of your drawings shown in all its glory (or several smaller ones together) on one side and the back of the card carries your details. If you can position your details in the bottom left quarter of the back you can allow the card to be used postally too. Have a look on the web, there are lots of online postcard printers and they can give you further ideas. The postcards can be given out like business cards but also distributed free at exhibitions and fairs, or given to art galleries and the like to put out in their shop, and any other places where people will see them and pick them up. The Arnolfini Gallery would be a start! (You'll also find some postcard collectors specialising in `moderns' will want copies too.)

They look great Conor! Good luck with the business.

Belle, the Arnolfini Gallery is in Bristol. They probably already know Conor.

Not bad Conor for a young lad. 265lbs. Just about the weight of a railway sack of wheat (beans and maize were heavier)  When I was a wagon driver I used to have to load and stack between 95 and 100 of them in twenty minutes. Problem is that it was work like that which buggered my back so be careful!

I'm in every day so no problems about delivery.

Swifty, the number of times I have said that!  When they assessed me before retiring me early because of my back I don't think the doctors believed me when I told them the weights we used to handle. A woman once asked me in a pub if I worked out with weights, i told her yes, but we called it work!

Mel tells me the prints should arrive today. Tension mounts!
