I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic.  However.....  have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Mid teens, rain (showers mainly),  possible thunder and hail for the next 7 days.  No point complaining ... it's frowned upon here ... it's just that it's sooo cold.
So how did your afternoon go Julie?  Hope you found shelter if you needed it.

Flags are damp.  Showers early but forecast is bright later on.

Smoker is impressive.  Nice to see that someone still knows how to make a domed end with a flange......

I thought it would attract two kinds of attention, and yes it is an impressive piece of kit.

I keep having a fancy to build one in the back yard and try smoking some ham.......  One of the nicest things I ever tasted was a butty made with hot-smoked eel from the Isselmeer.  They were the first of the season and I had them in Dordrecht.  I say them because there was a woman I had never met in my life who took one bite out of hers and pulled a face, she was going to throw it in the bin but I grabbed it and asked if I could have it.  She said yes, so I had two.  Turned out she came from Bury and had evidently no tolerance for 'foreign food'.  Poor lass!

What a storm we had last night. A full 2 hours or more of thunder and lightening, lightening that lit up the whole sky. Had to switch to terrestrial television as sky breaks up at the merest hint of an electrical storm. What are we going to do when terrestrial stops? Oh of course, it won't matter because we will be experiencing power cuts probably, no tele anyway!

I've noticed that since I went over to satellite.  It doesn't need to be a storm, a good thunderhead between the dish and the source will do it.  Never mind, all those books to read......

Excellent weather for ducks here. Wet,wet,wet....and we are just loving it. It was so nice to lie in bed listening to the rain this morning. (a bit chilly when the wind comes up though).
