Here's a mystery for you. There isn't an answer yet because I don't know what it is. Here are two pics:
It's some sort of a gauge, made by A G Parker of 69 Icknield Street, Birmingham and on the front is engraved what I believe is the owner's name; Captain J H Square of Kingsbridge. I've put one or two enquiries out and am waiting to hear from them. I think it might be something to do with Guns because I have an idea that A G Parker was one of the founders of Parker-Hale, a company that specialised in gun sights and accessories. Has anyone ever seen anything like it?

Stanley,the key you put on,a mate of mine about 25yrs ago bought an ex -army landrover that was used as an ambulance,he had a key identical to that one for opening a box on it,i remember saying it would make a good tool box...

You lot are getting too good at this! Comrade Nolic was closest. It's a linoleum knife used for cutting ito the corners right up against the skirting board or through two layers to make an accurate joint. Must find something a bit harder!
That'll tighten the bands on you!

Is it for adjusting the position of an operating cam , or tappet of some sort ....?

PS..... As a kid, I though Ribble buses were much more exciting that the Corporation ones....They went to far away places with strange sounding names like Oswaldtwistle...........Ooooph !

The central projection looks as if it might be flat like a screwdriver tip, so are the two outside projections for locating it correctly while the handle is turned to unscrew something?
