Guess where I am then add yours.

It is the 1960's I am looking at  a roundabout, behind me is the local nightspot, to my right is the odeon cinema, across the roundabout is the "skyscraper", as it was likened to when built. Where am I and what is the name of the nightspot?

Sorry hubby says my directions are wrong again, SOUTH of the Angel of the North. A topical clue: a county cricket team plays near here, ( and the site of the cricket ground was my schools cross country route!!!)

The village of Penshaw is an area of the Sunderland Metropolitan Borough, about three miles north of Houghton-le-Spring, just over the River Wear from Washington. It derives its name from the British Pen, meaning hill or ridge, and the Saxon Shaw, a wood or thicket; thus Penshaw is the wooded hill.Penshaw is well-known locally for Penshaw Monument, a prominent landmark built in 1844 atop Penshaw Hill, which is a replica of the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens.
