Following the recent discussion about chippies in Barlick, I was wondering whether there's merit in creating a new Forum for reviews of local eating out places? And pubs? This would benefit newcomers/visitors as well as locals. I would be happy to write reviews of the local restaurants and pubs - a tedious and arduous task but someone's gotta do it The beauty of a website like OGFB is that several people could comment on the same place - one person's meat is another person's poison - so the reader would get a fair and balanced idea, unlike newspaper reviews which depend on the mood of the reviewer on just one occasion.

Hope its the right topic :D
My boyfriend and my familiy are going to visit me as soon as I live in Barlick ( I think in 3 or 4 weeks) - I thought that I can invite them to have a good meal. Maybe a steak? Or do you have "typical barlick" advice? :)

A number of the eating places referred to on here are still around and probably still quite good. If you want tradition go to a pub that serves food on a Sunday and have beef and Yorkshire pudding. Fish and chips is quite traditional and curries are becoming so. Nolic

Is the new Indian restaurant open yet? If so any comments?
Half decent Italian down Gisburn Rd.
When your visitors are in town mode of transport will certainly affect your choices. The Woolly Sheep in Skipton is a good choice for traditional pub food, and Skipton a;ways nice to visit.
