I have just got my first revenue for my book, My Maylard Family. Not much but more than I had hoped. Eight in Print, the Creative Writing book, has made a healthy sum. It it exciting. Roll on My Widdup family to be started after Christmas

Sue, one thing I found out was that while Lulu are very good with revenue cheques, they are quite inflexible on quarterly payments. If, like me you refuse to use Pay Pal (I had a bad experience with them once, never again!) and get your payment as a dollar cheque it is galling to be charged £12 by the bank for doing the exchange to sterling on a very small amount. I tried to get it changed to annual payments but their system doesn't allow that. However, after talking to a nice man at Lulu I found the solution. Their system allows you to state a minimum amount below which the payments will not be made and will accumulate until you reach a reasonable figure. I forget what I stipulated but it means that it will be a long time before I get a cheque but when I do it will be worth exchanging.

I used Paypal, and can then transfer it to my bank. I am happy with that
