tizer theres not a subject my brothers bad at (hes not sporty) makes me sick!! he doesnt know what he wants to do when he leaves school. he says hes just going to do his best and see what doors open when he gets there.
ive been bogged down with homework/coursework hours and hours of the stuff so the drawing is not getting done, i am already fed up with worring about exams and ive got a few more months to do.
ive had a fitting to have a suit taylor made for me for my leaving school prom, i went to about 6 or 7 suit shops and nothing fits me, even the tall range is a few inches short. i cant wait for it to come now as i got to choose the material and lining style and pockets etc so i just hope it fits after all of that, oh and mum... whos flying the nest? LOL

OOh the prom suit...how exciting. Don't worry about exams...it does no good at all, just remember if you have done your best, angels can't do more. That was a piece of advice my dad used to give me, and it made little sense to me untill he died very suddenly just before my o'levels and then it seemed to be the best piece of advice I had ever received.

i dont think she will either but then ive always got nans just down the road LOL me and my brother have always been encouraged to be independant, so we have always got ourselves up for school and mum has showed us how to work the washing machine how to cook and we have to keep our rooms clean and tidy at all times and we put the washing away, mow lawns and generally help around the house, and not just for us for my grandparents too, i always mow nans lawn and chop wood. so i think i would cope just about. but mum has said if anything happened to her she wants to know we would have the skills to manage on our own.
im sorry to hear you lost your dad so young belle that must of been a terrible time,
'angels cant do more' i like that saying,
i think i will tell my teacher that tomorrow when i hand in my work, so if i am not around tomorrow i will be in detention!!! LOL

oh i forgot to say, my art teacher gave me an entry form for an art competition on the 15th may. its for portrait art. so mum rang the organiser today and asked if i could enter a print as i only have 2 originals, and the man said that he couldnt see why not. so as long as you dont mind stanley???, i might enter yours. oh and they dont mind naked ladys drawings either so i think calender girl is going to have to be entered too, but i can only enter 4 pieces. theres not going to big prizes but vouchers for art supplys. so still no farrari!! haha
if you entered one of the dog drawings, which one do you think is the best one to enter? the cocker spaniel? or the collie?
ive just edited as i am drawing and i have some how ripped the paper AAARRRGGGHHHH ive got to start all over again, at least 3 hours work down the **** pan. i could scream

No problem at all Conor, don't even think of asking again. If you ever need the original for a major exhibition just shout, you're welcome.

Stanley's advice re the ripped paper is the best you can get...it reminds me of the poem "If" ...if you can watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
As to my set backs in life I am firm believer of the saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." I tend to think it's a Scots saying, it is certainly their approach to life, and it has made me stronger.
I hope you didn't get detention...artists are so misunderstood :)
Some one told me recently I did my 'smiles' the wrong way round..it is all part of the rich tapestry that comes with being left handed.. hope that one was understandable as a smile, good luck with the competition.. maybe your mum can judge which is the best dog pic to enter.. she has watched all of them take shape.. but the pic of Stanley is sure to be a winner!!

Belle, it's interesting to know you are left-handed. So is Mrs Tiz. It causes some fun when we slice bread - we both cut slightly off from a true 90 degree angle, but she one way and me the other. So if I cut after her I get a slice which is thick down one side, thin the other!

thankyou stanley. ok the collie it will be, though mum said tonight that after my physio appointment tomorrow she will take me to the framers so she said she will pay to have stanley and both the dogs copied and mounted. so that i have them all as part of a portfolio, then i can show them when ever i need to.
dont worry belle i didnt get a detention. im a good boy haha
my brother is left handed and is always moaning about pens as he smudges the ink as he writes, its a problem to him. and he also finds it hard to look down the scope when we are target shooting with dad. he always closes the wrong eye.

I seem to remember from the days when Her Maj was turning me into a killing machine that we all have a 'master eye' and it doesn't necessarily correspond with whether we are left-handed or not. Perhaps your brother should look into it and find out how he can identify which eye it is.
