How many of you are a genius
Intelligence Test, Part 1
You have to work out what the letters mean. See No 0 as an example.
It doesn't matter if you write the answers in uppercase or lowercase, but the answers
must be exactly as expected (no additional intervals or dashes and the spelling must be correct).
If you get 19 + of these, you are a "genius".
0 24 H in a D = 24 Hours in a Day
1 26 L of the A
2 7 D of the W
3 7 W of the W
4 12 S of the Z
5 66 B of the B
6 52 C in a P (W J)
7 13 S in the U S F
8 18 H on a G C
9 39 B of the O T
10 5 T on a F
11 90 D in a R A
12 3 B M (S H T R)
13 32 is the T in D F at which W F
14 15 P in a R T
15 3 W on a T
16 100 C in a D
17 11 P in a F (S) T
18 12 M in a Y
19 13 is U F S
20 8 T on an O
21 29 D in F in a L Y
22 27 B in the N T
23 365 D in a Y
24 13 L in a B D
25 52 W in a Y
26 9 L of a C
27 60 M in an H
28 23 P of C in the H B
29 64 S on a C B
30 9 P in S A
31 6 B to an O in C
32 1000 Y in a M
33 15 M on a D M C
Scoring: 1 to 5 is Average, 6 - 11 Somewhat Intelligent, 12 to 18 Intelligent, 19 + Genius
Cut & paste this posting with your answers into an e-mail and send to me at webmaster@oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk and I will then post up a leader board once I have marked your answers.

Then you probably have the correct one Ringo. (Did I mention you can use the letters more than once in the word, so long as they only come from that top line? Didn't I mention that? ooooooo sorry....)

I now know how Calluna felt! There was a definite lack of interest!
Anyhow as promised here are the answers:
1. How many revolutions must the large cog make to return all the cogs to their starting positions if - Cog 1 has 17 teeth, Cog 2 has 12 teeth, Cog 3 has 5 teeth and Cog 4 has 4 teeth?
Ans: 60 revolutions - find the lowest common denominator of number of teeth on each cog then disregard double ups fom other cogs (show in brackets) - e.g
17 = 1 x 17
12 = 2 x 2 x 3
5 = (1) x 5
4 = (2 x2)
Leaving 1 x 17 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 = 1020 (the lowest number in to which 17, 12, 5 & 4 can be divided)
Then 1020 / 17 = 60
2. Can you name the unusual jobs or hobbies:
Birthday Card Collector.....................Genethliadeltiologist,
Candle Manufacturer ........................Chandler
Collector of Model Pigs .....................Porcinologist
Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist .............Otorhinolaryngologist,
Election Results Analyst ...................Psephologist,
Fruit Grower ..........................................Pomologist
Hair Specialist .......................................Trichologist
Indian Tax Collector ..........................Tahsildar,
Matchbox Collector ...........................Phillumenist.
Midwife ...............................................Accoucheuse
Potholer ...........................................Spelunker,
Refuse Collector .............................Garbologist
Seeker of Aliens .............................Ufologist.
Shoemaker ......................................Cordwainer (I deliberately left this one out to see if anyone was interested!)
Wine Connoisseur ............................Oenophile,
3. Two rockets are orbiting around different suns. Unfortunately, there is one point where the there obits co-incide and therefore the rockets could crash if they hit at the same time. Rocket A takes 4 years to orbit its sun and Rocket B takes 8 years. How long before they crash?
Ans: Never - Rocket A passes the collission point in years 3,7,11,15, 19 ..............etc
Rocket B in years 5, 13, 21, 29, 37 ........................etc
Therefore the as the first & second series of years are never the same the rockets will never crash!
In math terms it is '4x + 3' never equals '8y + 5' for any x or y

Sent the mensa test in, went to Manchester, did the formal tests, got results, got paperwork to say I AM A GENIUS, paid my membership. Wonderful, was rubbish at school, hated it, got no qualifications, just tried the Mensa thing to prove to myself I was not stupid------don't know how I managed genius though.

I got the Mensa thing because I thought it would be something cool to put on my University applications. Never bothered to renew the membership after that I must say (too skint). But the tests were fun even if I don't set much store by them.
