Lovely day in the Pasty Republic , there had been a frost overnight , which soon melted ....Celendines are out (Mum says that's a sure sign of Spring !)

Mist never really went away but still a decent day. Looks like more of the same today but without the mist. Glass solid on 30".

Just been to the beach wth Dexter....He "investigated" the two other dogs that were there . They both let him know who was boss !....He's learning fast .........Lovely day here....

Nice day here as well Brad. I have put the Cromby back in the wardrobe until next winter. I think we are definitely moving closer to spring. Heard a funny whining noise when I came down from Latcliffe yesterday and found I had brought a wasp in on my coat! Never seen one so early before. Glass has dropped back slightly but calm and cool outside with dry flags. Could be another good day.

It cleared up in Barlick Moh. Lokks same today, calm, cold and glass high and steady. March is doing us proud!

We are back to scraping thick frost off windscreens this morning, could even have been a smattering of snow, hard to tell. D did the car when he went out at 7.30 and by 8.15 it was frozen over again...the crocuses are managing to remain resplendant but spring looks no nearer!

As it's a beautiful day I decided to walk over the fields to Watson's scrap yard in Salterforth with a rucksack of lead flashing left over from the house renovation (9 kilos' worth = just short of £6).
Wandered a couple of metres off the beaten track by mistake and found this tree. I swear I didn't spend the £6 in the Anchor but it seems to me there's a person trapped right there in the trunk:

Nice pic. I saw the body immediately. Thirns are good for twisted shapes but you have to be abseving to see them, no good just looking.
Sharp frost again, glass has fallen back to 29" but looking good. Cold yesterday but OK if you kept moving.

Indeed there are quite a few 'bodies' in there, Bradders.
My attention was first caught by the creature which looks like it's from some sci-fi or mythical film. Big pointy ears, sitting facing to the right with its bum bottom left. It was only when I started taking photos (on my phone, so the quality isn't great) that I saw the woman here and from the other angle it looks like a man being crucified.
Then when I looked at the image on-screen, I saw the elephant's head with trunk and tusk which is where the woman's shoulders and back are.
Here's a cropped enlargement:
We've decided to have an enlargement made at Pumpkin on the Town Square to fit a 3ft x 2ft frame - the picture should prove to be a talking point!
