Can anyone tell me whether Fairchild's, Monumental Masons, are still in business, or their successors if they've been teken over. Failing that, who are now the recognised headstone `experts' in the Barlick/Thornton/Earby area

Fairchilds no longer exist, the recognised monumental mason is Shaun Bradley.

I have just been in touch with Thomas Rock, Clitheroe, regarding adding names to my family's grave at Martin Top, Rimington. It was a referral from the lady who looks after graveyard matters at the chapel there. I telephoned and spoke to a nice man who said he could handle the work, no problem. I live in Washington, DC, so I need to deal with someone who is fair, honest, and skilled. The man I spoke with (Michael) seems to embody all these traits. As this is a matter dear to my heart, I'd very much like to hear from anyone who can advise me. I am ready and willing to journey to Clitheroe to make sure my parents and my brother are remembered along with earlier generations. Stanley... If I die on this website, send my ashes to Martin Top!

What makes you think I'll be around? Besides, you couldn't afford my charges!
