I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic.  However.....  have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Just got back from my morning inspection of the town.  We had some very heavy rain last night, evidence of flooding in Valley Gardens and the beck is running very strong and discoloured.  Quite surprised really, this must have been the fag end of the rain that affected the south yesterday.

(Here in Oz) I was expecting a gas plumber to come and install a feestanding (portable) gas heater....which meant a pipe being installed, complete with a byonet point. Today was very chilly and I didn;t know what time to expect him, but I was reluctant to put the (expensive) ducted heating on as I expected doors to be thrown open for the job. I could have done with mittens, as I clutched my coffee to warm my hands. Finally he came, late in the afternoon (when I was almost frozen)....his impression was that he was just giving a quote today and was installing next week. (Oh...) Ducted went on before he had backed his van out of the drive! I froze all damn day for that man...

Never mind Maz, you saved a bit of gas!  We have heavy rain forecast for tomorrow.....  I think Ringo is off to France, I hope he finds better weather.

What happened to Global Warming ???? if you have some please send it to Aberdeen. Seriously thought about putting the heating on this afternoon, then common sense took over.  Godron already has me down as a planet destroyer  ( we have a 4x4 ) so I didn't want to add more !!!!!

Frank, I've had a blast of heating on two or three days lately.  More to keep the house aired than anything else.  Looking out of the window, wet slates and steady rain......  50F.  Not summer or anywhere near it.

Just had a heavy rain storm and looks like more - we too keep having the heating on for a while (and to dry the washing).

Just got back from a dog walk and we are both frozen and soaked.  Perhaps it was my imagination but I am sure we experienced SLEET.  Its 14 degrees C at our back door.
