Conty, well done re the maths...and the pic, 100% in both I would say!
Stanley, you are right what you say re death, and if poss do it whilst well, so it is not too painful.

stanley dont go talking about dying!!! you havent got yer picture yet!!. have any of you watched 'seven pounds' with will smith? eerghh thats about a man who was trying to pay back the bad hed done by donating his organs to deserving people. the thought was good but i felt sick. he committed suicide to do it. one film i wont be watching again though me mum and dad were all crying. though me n dad said that it was dust in our eyes lol

Connor, talking about death is good, remember that life is a terminal disease so don't waste time. You're young and it seems a long way off and the thought frightens you. When you've done everything things look different so let us have our occasional diversions into living wills. Don't worry, I'm here for a long time yet!

When my father was a child in the 1920s Grandma gave him and her other children a spoonful of Owbridge's Lung Tonic every morning in winter. She reasoned that it would prevent coughs as well as curing them. It certainly improved the profits of Owbridge's!

To give a kidney to another person has to be one of the most noble things in life.
Whilst I was in hospital, the chap across from me had received a kidney from his wife, it is a very humbling thing to see and brought a tear to my eye....

Conor, your publicity may be limiting your potential audience.
I suspect that many people who might be considering having a portrait done would not thing in terms of pencil as a medium. If you remove the "pencil" from you byline and have "Conor Farr Portrait Commissions" as your tag then you may attract more people. Once you have them in touch with you hit them with the work that you have done and I suspect they will then be hooked. You then cover them with all the advantages that pencil offers above oils, pastels etc in terms of shade, tone and clarity and I suspect you then have a sale.
What do you think?
I've just noticed that I've used a few angling expressions above and they are not out of place. You need to attract fish with enticements before you even have a chance of catching them - people are much the same.
If you need an agent just let me know.......I'm looking for another job.

Conor, keep an eye open for engravers - they need fine, detailed monochrome images from which they can make their engravings. At the top end of the business are those doing banknotes and stamps! (And have you ever tried engraving as an extension of drawing?)

oooppps too late mum has paid for them!! ergh oh well ive not ordered too many so they will be gone in a flash so i will remember your advice for next time i order.
spoke to the lady who is organising artist 303 competition and she said that the marquiss of bath is coming to open the event, he owns Longleat and does the most weird paintings himself, anyway drawings are being delivered on tuesday. so keep your fingers crossed that i might be one of the lucky 250 out of 600 that makes it on the walls and displayed!!
oh and dont worry moh,and stanley. even my teachers spell my name wrong, im getting used to it. even the trophys i have won are all spelt wrong!!
tizer ive not even thought about engraving, i have had a go at woodcarving a few years ago, i carved a dolphin. but it was really hard material to work with. i guess thats why i went on to do all those wallace and gromit characters in plastercine as its much easier to mold. and ive also had a go at pirography (dont think thats how you spell it) but its burning wood, kinda like engraving
