I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic.  However.....  have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Hi, quite wintry here in Adelaide,  we've had a few cool, cloudy and showery days, but warming up soon.  21C for Friday.  (I've been keeping myself warm with 'hot flushes' .. ha ha.)

All thru the fields and meadows gay  ....  Enjoy

Cold and Wet here Stanley.
I am just looking out into our back garden and I see all the daffs are out after a couple of days sunshine !!!   Now the snow and cold looks like wiping them out over the weekend. That's nature I suppose

Nolic...what goes on at this 'slimming club'? How do they achieve success?
(Just this week I have commenced a regime of counting calories AND fat grams. I'm trying to stick to 1200 cals a day and 30gram of fat or less. The first few days involved a lot of head scratching and weighing and measuring....errr food stuffs that is(!), though I had to measure and jot down my OWN stats too. (best forgotten). I had a few shocks, I must admit. My aim is to fill my plate with the fewest calories and fat grams possible. Quite a challenge! But it IS possible. I've increased my walking to about 2 hours pr day also. This ruddy diary takes me all my time to fill in. It came free with the calorie and fat gram book.)
If anyone laughs....I'll brain them...

hahahahahah

sorry

I use the weight watchers points system 28 points per day, and walk 3 miles a day. Thursdays are a treat day, yesterday it was a custard slice 6 1/2 points. I never thought how much fat could be in a custard slice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Its Slimming World which is basically using very low fat, low carb foods and plenty of treats and "syns" as they call them.  Not quite got my head round it all yet but it seems to work for those that were there.

I've lost about 2 stone since Xmas basically by cutting out alcohol and fats, eating sensibly and taking more exercise - which is getting easier in the light mornings but I felt I needed to loose more, quicker.  Despite being massive I was not as heavy as I thought I was and I'm starting to wear clothes that I havn't worn in ages.

Oh and its been very nice over here this afty but its now starting to cloud over a bit. Nolic

Keep up the good work Oilcan. I went to Sliming World before my trip to Jamaica a few years ago. It's quite easy once you get used to the way it all works but I think I got too used to it and would bend a rule here and there until, before you know, the weight creeps back on a lb here and a lb there.
I really should go back, I used to really quite enjoy it.

My slimming has slowed.  Same regime as Nolic.  I'm too good a cook!

I have no problem with the calorie side of things, in fact I quite comfortably seem to be coming in under the 1200 cals/day (according to the ruddy diary). It's easy to overdo the fat grams though, especially as I cannot abide low fat/skimmer milk and eek out my quota of full fat milk in coffees throughout the day. i keep telling myself I could have a better dinner if I just gave up the milk! I can give up bread/ butter/sugar but I still cling to the darn milk.
Perfect day here today.....sunny and 23 degrees....Febby is out mowing the back lawn, and I've promised to come out and weed the garden beds. I expect he's wondering where I am.

Cancel last message, opened the kitchen curtains because it's daylight now and it's raining......  Must be close to snow as it's only just above freezing.

Went out with Jack around 8am and we were caught in a heavy shower of hard snow/hail that turned to cold wetting rain......  Now the sun is shining and the flags are drying.  Frost forecast for tonight.
