As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

I never had the sports gene or any ability except in cycling. We were swift kiddies and I saw a quiz question last night which asked what spot used the word 'bonk'. My mind went back to the 'bonk bags' we used to have that contained high energy snacks to get us back up to speed when the tank ran out. We never did it competitively but my god we could cover some miles in a day. I still treasure my late mate Iain's comment about being fed up with climbing hills in Derbyshire behind me and watching my fat little legs going up and down like piston rods! Sixty years later I still have good legs with no sign of various veins, all that bike-riding as a growing lad?

belle the fag sounds healthier than what some smoke now up the field, loads of kids get stoned in school and i go to a good school i cant imagine what it would be like to go to a bad one!! maybe the teachers are stoned too LOL unfortunatly drugs are everywhere even in the little country villages, thats why i am careful what partys i go to.

jess the girl i trian with was quite chubby last year (shot-put) but she has changed loads with the training, all the chubby has fallen off and shes better at discus now because of it, i think she felt the same as you belle that she was really good at something in sport last year, this year shes going to kick some ass at discus and look great doing it too, im really proud of her shes my best buddie

stanley isnt varcous veins hereditary? thats what my dad says as he has got them and blames my nan, my dad used to cycle to london to bristol every year for a charity and cycle during the year to train for the run upto london and he has veins in his leg as big as fingers!! hopefully i will have my mothers legs!!! hehe poor dad.. gotta go or im gonna be late for school LOL

Conty, you have got your head screwed on right...Pot was just becoming fashionable in my youth and like now, people thought it was "harmless" but I know many of my contemporaries who missed out on brilliant careers through getting hooked and some with long term mental health problems. I also know a scientist who researched the lasting physical effects and it was found to be 7 times more carconegenic (can't spell it but 'cancer forming') than tobacco, whether it was eaten or smoked. Of course many kids are into other things as well, it all seems a great idea at the time, but there is a life time of grief to pay for it, and for some that life time is cut short.
Sorry I am lecturing the wrong person...but it's no wonder some schools threaten sniffer dogs!

Good for your friend, you sound very proud of her, she is blessed to have you as her friend, I hope she does well in the discus this summer, sounds like she has worked hard for it.

im off to learn how to use coloured pencils tomorrow as ive had alot of requests for coloured portraits. so i think i am going to have an interesting day as ive been told i will be the youngest by a mile!! haha well the old grannys will be spoiling me LOL and today was the end of my 10 hour gcse art exam, this time i drew myself throwing the discus with the olympic rings behind me and a union jack. the artist that i used for this piece was the offical olympic artist kevin whitney, so thats where the union jack and the olympic rings in paint came from, with my bit being the self portrait in pencil.  ive got a sneeky photo of how my exam work was going yesterday, i havent got one finished but you will get the idea

PS. The cold is because you are mixing with other people and look at it this way, it's educating your immune system. Remember that too much training damages the immune system.

Worth it! It looks good but you really should improve your time management! You should be in bed at ten and up at five!
