I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic.  However.....  have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Overcast here and cooler than it has been. The sun looks as though it keeps trying to get through---nearer the sea than Barlick

They were right about the frost.  Clear sky in Barlick but a white frost on the slates.....  We need some warm rain from the South West.  I notice that the Hawthorns are just starting to break out into blossom on Letcliffe and some are out down in the town but what I have seen looks a bit thin up to now.  The trees generally are looking beautiful.

Dry and clear in Barlick.  Close to a touch of frost again.  Heating has come on.

90 minutes later and more south, yes a cool night again but a glorious morning here. I was quite overdressed walking young Samuel this morning.

Julie, just got back from my morning inspection of Barlick.  Wonderful morning and a nice young lady dog-walker who let me feel her bump.  She's got 6 weeks to go, is carrying the baby high and looks radiant.  What better way to start the morning?  Let's hear it for dog-walking!  (By the way, she hasn't asked what sex it is, she wants to be surprised.  What a refreshing attitude....)

T Shirt and shirt for me. Misty  very frisky and determined to catch a squirrel this morning. I like it when she spots something at a long distance then flies towards it to vere off nonchalantly as much as to say "I knew you weren't a squirrel and I wasn't really chasing you "  when she realises it's a bird. Brilliant. Nolic

Re-run of the last two days in Barlick.  Mind you, as I walked through some lightly wooded ground near Silentnight yesterday there were wafts of warm air coming off the ground.  Funny thing is that though it was a wild environment I saw no butterfies, birds or insects......
