Makes it easier if the site is linked like this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/denmark/7854836/Lord-Kinnock-son-accused-of-tax-evasion-in-Denmark.html

How have you achieved that, gearce?????
I simply used a copy and paste, using the old Wordstar command Ctrl/V to do the paste, to get round the barrier put up by the site.
(and by the way, if/when you find out about the posting of pictures I could appreciate a tutorial ).

On most boards out there, C&Ping a html link is enough to make it a link on the board. Not so on OGFB.
After you've C&P ed the link, you highlight it and then click the chain symbol and appease the box that pops up.
Skyportal is obscure and virtually unused for a reason........
Interestingly, clicking the skyportal link at the bottom of the page is a dead link, maybe it sank without trace.

What .........like that ?
Hey Pluggy thanks, Maestro........!
I can do it ...I can do it...... Oh no I can't....the Link I "put up" keeps bringing me back to OGFB !
Now that IS keeping it in the family !
Wonder what I did wrong ..Ha..

I missed a bit out, in the appeasing the box bit, you have to copy the link into the 'Link URL' box.

OK pictures (you watching catty ?) :
This has been made a lot easier than it used to be, arguably its no more difficult than other boards. With older version of Skyportal, the instructions ran to an A4 sheet that only Stanley could fathom.
1: Click the tree icon (next to the smiley at the top of the reply box).
2: Click the Browse button button in the upload section at the bottom of the box that pops up.
3: This opens an OS file browser which varies by operating system. You find the picture you want to post on your computer by navigating to the folder where you left it, highlight the picture file you want and click the 'Open' button.
4 Click the word 'Upload'
5 Appease the Upload Result box.
6 Find the file you uploaded in the left hand pane and highlight it.
7 Click the 'Insert' Word.
9 Appease the box (Ignore it ranting about Image description, lifes too short... )
That should be it.
The above is what I'm getting stuck on my car doors and bonnet....

Please don't be offended by this Pluggy, but I still think you need a snappier and easier to remember name for the company. Is it too late now? For example - I have just used "Aquatic Landscapes", and "Fix and Fence". Both these typed from memory, and mentally filed away for future reference. Just read your name 60 seconds ago, and I could not write it now.

You could be right Tripps, my surname seems to be getting me a lot of my jobs. Taylforth is a well known name in this area, due to the estate agents and the older end remembering my father who delivered milk and eggs and ran a shop for many years.
Unfortuneatly the IT industry is overrun with cute analogy names and finding a free domain name nowadays is tough going.

Thank you kind sir.Well I seem to have managed it....after I found the "tree" icon.( Result in "What wildlife have you seen".)
Once the icon was found it was fairly straight forwards, even to the image being automatically resized to suit.
Thanks again.

(and by the way, if/when you find out about the posting of pictures I could appreciate a tutorial ). Re posting of pictures.
Sorry I've not replied before this but I've been offline for a bit.
I see you've received a number of replies and that you've succeeded in posting a picture.
For what it's worth, here's what I do.
It depends on where the picture I want to post is located ...... Whether I have it on file or whether it is a picture I come across while on the internet.
I use MS Windows Vista Basic so these instructions apply to that OS.
If I have the picture on file:
1. Click on the tree icon. 2. From the resulting window, click Browse 3. From the resulting window, select the Pictures folder and choose from the list on the right, the folder in which the picture appears. 4. From the resulting window, choose from the list on the right, the picture you wish to post. 5. The location of the picture will appear in the upload box. 6. At this point, determine whether you wish to have the picture displayed in the default size or the original size. 7. If you wish to have the picture displayed in the default size, click Upload ...... Click OK in the Message from webpage dialogue box ...... Scroll through the listing of pictures and click on the picture you have just uploaded ...... An Image Preview will appear ...... Click Insert ...... Click OK in the Message from webpage dialogue box. 8. If you wish to have the picture displayed in the original size, do not click Upload but rather highlight the location in the upload box, right click and select Copy from the drop-down menu ...... Click on the Appearance tab and right click in the Image URL box ...... Select Paste from the drop-down menu and click Insert. 9. Click OK in the Message from webpage dialogue box.
If I don't have the picture on file:
1. Right click on the picture and select Properties from the drop-down menu. 2. Highlight the Address (URL), right click on it and select Copy from the drop-down menu. 3. Click on the tree icon. 4. Click on the Appearance tab and right click in the Image URL box ...... Select Paste from the drop-down menu and click Insert. 5. Click OK in the Message from webpage dialogue box.
Note: There is no option to have the picture displayed in the default size.

The pictures that give most trouble and are at times unreliable are ones linked in from another site, they are often slow and sometimes not available. Far better to upload a pic to the site, archive it and display it in a topic from there.
