Oh dear.... I think you know what I meant Belle! As if!
Brad, the glory of British weather. We had a good day again despite the forecast, got up to over 75F. Clear as a bell at the moment and glass has risen overnight to 29.5" All looks good at the moment. Bugger the forecast! (Gardens are loving it)

Tee Hee...how is Belle looking today, Stanley? (time to 'moon' that passing satellite, Belle!)
Perfect day here. 19 and sunny. Just a shame I didn't have any washing to do.

Nice morning, glass risen to 29.6" Thin high cloud and the sun is shining. Nice hay weather for the Simpsons who have felled three meadows since Monday. Forecast is for it to get better for the weekend.
A very light shower one hour later. Fingers crossed!

Three meadows abroad at Bancrofts yesterday. Had a word with Alwin, if it doesn't rain tonight they start baling today. Two more little meadows to cut, they might fell them at weekend. Nothing after slight shower yesterday morning and glass is still rising, 29.6" (just over) He says their glass is at the highest it's been all Spring and that's what he's going on.

Clear sky but a bit watery. Glass fallen back to 29.5" but Simpsons will be OK. They were rowing up the meadows at noon yesterday and unless I am sadly mistaken all three would be baled by teatime. Modern machinery is much faster than the old days and plastic wrapped round bales are safe as soon as they are made. Simpsons 1: weather nil I think!
06:30 and back after a walk. Still, chilly enough for you to see your breath (50F so it must be quite himid) watery sun from a sky that looks clear but must have a lot of moisture in it. Birds are singing and all is well.

I forgot to mention that on Thursday evening (about 8.15) , I was driving between Delabole and Trebarwith Strand and was astonished by the clear view. I stopped the car at a high point and got out for a better look.
The sea was "as flat as a mill pond" . Almost due North a large green island was CLEARLY visible . When I met friends later I asked them what it was ..........."LUNDY" was the answer. !
I've checked with my flying friend , and he measured the distance on his chart......38 miles.

Brad, the Langdales have been just visible from my bench on Letcliffe on quite a few days recently, 43 miles at least. Another settled morning, clear sky, sun, glass steady at 29.4 and what breeze there is is North of West so that will stop excessive temperatures. Same forecast for tomorrow. Simpson's hay baled and the other two meadows are making. They are doing well! Good weather, walking in it is a pleasure.

A chilly morning here, but we are just beginning to see patches of blue sky, so maybe it will be a bit more cheerful by mid afternoon.
We went up the river on the weekend. Took our little van...met some friends there who had their (slightly more luxurious) van too. The weekend consisted of us gathering around in chairs and chatting until the next downpour, when we would all jump up and stash our chairs under our vans and disappear into our vans promising to see each other in a little while. It was that kind of weather...very 'on and off. The evenings were a total washout by 7.30 pm...time to snuggle down in bed and watch DVDs. On the Saturday afternoon, the other woman and I went for a walk around the park, as her little dog needed a walk. We came across a very distressed woman in a state of near collapse. She was the owner of the park, and had just discovered her little dog had been run over. (He was at her feet. I'll just say the scene was dreadfully fresh and it looked like an arterial bleed to me, so at least it was pretty quick for the poor little mite.) My friend didnt want to bring her little dog near the scene, so I stayed to comfort the lady as best I could. She was not in a good way. The upsetting thing of course, is that the driver obviously didn't stop or inform anyone of the incident. It is that fact that made it even more distressing for the woman I think. She said she had sent her husband for a box. (and...God Bless Him...I couldn't help crying myself when he turned up with the dog's BED.) So that was the worst of the weekend. It is so sad when these things happen isn't it?
I was exhausted last night by the time we had unpacked and pushed the van back in the garage, and I had put two loads of washing through, AND cooked dinner and cleaned up. We were both in bed by 8pm! Slept all night. Must have needed it.

Maz, that's one of the penalties of giving your heart to anyone, even a dog. A sad story.
Just got back from the Barlick inspection. Very still and overcast, 60F and glass is just over 29.3. I think the cloud will burn off. Could be quite warm if it does.

Turned out nice again yesterday. Today looks like a rerun, over 60F outside, 29.2" and still. Could be a bit slower to get out today but still good weather. Rain tomorrow? It won't bother the Simpson Brothers, all is safely gathered in!
Just back from me walk. 65F clouding over a bit. Forecast could be right about rain this morning.

Cold, rainy winter weather today. Opened my front door (to see Marilyn off) and after we stepped thru it, the wind slammed the door shut. It was freezing out there. Brrr
