Thanks Gus for the new photos of people on the Square. Ordinary people - that's what this site is all about.  I thought it was a great place when I visited, and all the pepole I have sent since,  have enjoyed it. Wouldn't it make a great place for a webcam?  Much as we enjoy the view from Pluggy's back bedroom, it does tend to get a little repetitive. Does anyone know how to make this possible? What would be the cost, and resources needed?
PS. Isn't 'On the Square" a sort of Masonic password?

I brought up the idea of a webcam in the square years ago, but no-one responded  Frown - hopefully this time someone will be inspired ya-hoo One with a few different views would be magic.  Check out camvista - The Cobb at Lyme Regis (Enland, other England) and Stonehaven Harbour (Scotland,  Scenic Scotland).  You have to stay on for a few minutes to see the different views, but they are brilliant!!
Imagine being able to click on and see what's happening in Barlick.  Oh, I really hope it happens.

Theres a webcam looking at a piece of pavement on the town square. Its a security camera so my wife can see who is at the church door from her office.  Not very inspiring and heavy on bandwidth so I'm not publishing it.

I have a live version of my timed still looking out of my daughters bedroom window as well, It guzzles bandwidth so again, its not published.  All very well asking for a webcam,  all you need is a location, the motivation, the funding and the expertese to make it happen.

Here's the closest, A timed still (updates every 20 seconds) and a couple of Clitheroe. You can a least see what the weather is doing.

Gus - thanks for the link. Great pictures. Is everyone happy in this town, or just the ones you meet?

Hi David glad you appreciate the link, I would say that Barlickers are in general a happy lot, being a small town, we know how to avoid the old misery guts of the place...Gus

Mention of Masonic regalia and the aprons brings back a memory.......

From me memoirs..... Childhood.

When we moved to the Moor I started to go to St Paul’s.  I joined the Sunday School and the choir.  We practised twice a week I think on Tuesday and Friday so I made five visits there a week.  There was a paid organist and choirmaster, Mr Snow and the Rector was Alfie Jeff, he was a Mason and we were a popular church for Masonic ceremonies which were an eye opener for young lads like us.  I remember one day during the week there was one of these services and the church was packed with elderly men with shiny aprons and all, sorts of regalia.  What sticks out in my mind was that one of the men on the front row fell asleep during the sermon, his head drooped towards his chest and after a while we could see that something brown and liquid was running out of his mouth and down all his magnificent regalia.  It was beer, he was so full of booze that it just welled out of him.  What a mess, his mates got him outside and returned without him.

Stanley, would that be the same St Pauls as I put the thread up about and got the wonderful photos on?
