New topic to make it easier to load. I had the last of the Colcanan I made two days ago. It lasted so long because I bought some small Cox's that were never going to tipen so, waste not want not, I pelled them, stewed them down a bit and after draining them popped them in with the colcanan. Bit more seasoning and it was nice....

Bluey, all local, like the Dexter beef was reared in Barlick near Fernbank. He has his own farm as well. He's good at finding the funnies like a pig which had lived wild in a local wood all its life. That one never came off because they couldn't catch it! I am down for a freezer full when it slips up!  Last Pork I had was from Kelbrook so yes, local and good.

Cheers for that Stanley. Where abouts is his farm? Does he always have Dexter beef and where is it slaughtered? Though I suppose it will say where and when on his trays and lists in the shop?

Had meat and potato pie and peas at lunchtime  with pickled red cabbage and onions- fabulous! Well done the chefs in Salterforth.

I'm doing a Meat and potatoe pie also for tea, it will have a suet crust on and will also be consumed with a little red cabbage on top.

Great minds think alike, or is it just the weather that prompts such delights!
