As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

Well done Conor - just got back from holidays so I am catching up.

Midsomer Norton is where my great grandfather Joseph Hurley came from.  We are coming down there in September to meet up with distant Jones relatives from Canada who we have met in the internet.  My great grandmother Elizabeth Jones was born in Mells, but all my ancestors lived in and around Radstock.

hope you had a good holiday moh. what a small world eh? i go to school in midsomer norton and most of my family are all about the area. my great grandad was albert bishop. everyone around here knew him and my uncle owns the funeral directors (brian bishop) in paulton, the bishop family is massive and i havent met half of my relations, mum doesnt even know half of them. have you been doing a family tree?

and thankyou belle, ive done some more to it but ive had to stop for a while as im knee deep in exams and revising urgh. but ive got good news. my nan and gramp have decided to help me with some funds to get a drawing career on the go. not sure what to spend the money on yet as i need an A3 printer/scanner but i dont want to part with the majority of the money on one item so im going to think a bit more about whats best to buy first. as i dont want to waste a penny. although i have purchased an A2 drawing board and some more paper

nan is now doing a boigraphy about her life so that we have her story whens shes passed to remember her, im not sure how far into her story she is but theres pages and pages of it. have you thought of doing a book?

Hope the exams are going well...the mist has lifted here as the last one was thurs!
I love family tree stuff as well, and have my dads line back to the 1200's my mums line is a bit trickier...but it is very rare so I talk to one or two folk across the world who share it, a bit of an exclusive club!
How fantastic your grandparents are investing in your future...it is such a promising one..pick a few brains of other people who have made money at art before you shell out for anything...they will have some tips, no doubt.

if you have any 'chapman' 'prouse' or' farr' on your list of relatives nan would be a good one to contact, i will send you her email if you ever want it

Shame but I have none of those - Earle which became Hurley, Jones, Broadway, Circle (or Sertal comes up both spellings), Morgan, Bull, Hobbs, Mercer to name but a few!!  All qound MSN & Radstock.

I don't think my life has been interesting enough to write a book!!

Moh, no-one needs an interesting life to do a book - you can do a book simply to record your family history which you have been mentioning here, so that other in your family can read it. If you use Lulu.com like Stanley does you can even print only one copy! And if it were say 100 pages it would only cost you a few pounds per copy. A good way to put all your family history and photos and maps etc together in a bound paperback form.

Moh, don't get put off by the seeming complications, it's a lot easier than you think.
