Yes I'm home, gosh trying to get out of a hospital is a very time consuming and energy zapping experience, poor Marilyn was like a yoyo trying to be in the right place for me but at the same time trying not to get a carparking fine as they kept telling me I had to do just one more thing, see just one more dept etc etc. My cortosone injection should 'kick in' within a week. My little home doesn't look anything like it usually does and there could be more changes to come (aides etc), but I'm home and pleased about that at least. :)
All thru the fields and meadows gay .... Enjoy Take Care...Cathy |

Glad you're home Cathy. A nice autumn day here and quite mild. Mild weather for rest of week with sun by week-end.

Nothing beats being home, eh Cazza? (your own bed and loo...and in your case, four little paws and a wet nose to welcome you. Must say that cat didn't look any worse for wear because of your absence....though who can tell with cats? They are one animal who know how to take care of Number One.)
Lovely and sunny here today....23 degrees. Went for a little stroll at lunchtime to get my Vitamin D.

Nice to see you two looking after each other. I agree about bed and loo Cath. No 23C here! Mind you it's unseasonably warm this morning, 10C in backyard, very high for this time of year. Glass fairly steady at 29.1", dry at the moment but we are promised heavy rain later as it moves up the country from the SE. Early walk up Letcliffe I think.

Glass steady on 29.1", still 10C in backyard, warm for this time of year. Stiff breeze. No heavy rain yesterday and it's dry at the moment.

Another misty day and here it is much cooler in the wind. Thought it was supposed to be mild!

The wind felt cool but was actually quite warm in Barlick. Dry day, good for the time of the year. Dry, clement and breezy outside this morning. Broken cloud scudding across the moon. Glass risen slightly to 29.2" Looks like a similar day to yesterday. Things could be worse!

Sunny walk up to Letcliffe yesterday. Glass has shot up to 29.6" Dry, cool and calm outside. Lovely clear full moon hanging there in the early morning yesterday. I had some friends in Minnesota who had a large plastic moon hanging in the small copse at the bittom of their bad garden. I had supper with them one night in the conservatory at the back of the house and they turned the artificial moon on. Very effective!

Strange day in Burnley - the Hambledon hills and the west part of town are shouded in heavy mist with black clouds, up here on the east side we have a light mist and sunshine. Wind has changed round to the East.

Feels warmer than the predicted 26 degrees here today, but it could be because I have been doing a lot of cleaning. 'Babysat' son's Labrador on the weekend and with the warmer weather she is malting. Hair everywhere! I suppose these laminate floors are easier to clean than carpet, but when you have an open plan house and metres and metres of the stuff, it is hard work. We have been considering getting another dog of our own, but I just don't know. Wouldn't want to be cleaning at this depth every few days. (been there! done that!)

The sun never came out yesterday. But thee again, not cold, no wind and dry. Glass still hih at 29.5". There is a blocking high across Northern Europe which is stabilising our weather and fending off the Atlantic depressions. Long range forecast is that this will hold for most of this week, probably start breaking on Thursday. So settled weather till then and could be the odd patch of sunshine. Gooid weather for the season.

We were in the clouds all day yesterday, it was wet and windy. How come you didn't have any wind down there in Barlick when we had a nasty, cold easterly wind? It was a day for lighting the fire early and stopping indoors, just a quick dash to put the hens & ducks & ponies away before it got dark. I do feel sorry for the hens that are going through a full moult at the moment...brrrrr.
