I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic.  However.....  have you seen the forecast for Easter?

I take Cod Liver Oil most mornings and have oily fish at least once a week.  The only bit of me that sees the sun is my face and my hands......  I've often wondered how much skin you need to expose to get a useful vitamin D boost.

Cold and wet again this morning - supposed to be best day of the week according to Country File.

I read somewhere that Vitamin D absorbs best thru the flesh on your upper arms.

Pleasant journey to Newcastle this pm for meetings tommorrow.Temps of 20C and very light showers with some sun.
Good hotel with complementary internet access through a Mac - little keyboard and screen too big but hey, we can't have everything. Better get some work done ready for long day Thurs. Nolic

Clever comments like that are probably the result of your fish oil intake, Stanley. Face and hands in the sun are enough, if it's every day and when the sun is high.

And the high blood flow in my caratoid arteries due to all the walking I do?  Lousy cold wet start to Thursday here in Barlick.  Glass still creeping up but not a lot of signs of any improvement.

Later, after Jack and I did our morning inspection of the town.  Raining again and everything is swimming with water.  Ground is sodden.  I was talking to one of my farming friends and he said that they had a good sileage crop and a good crop of fog (aftermeth round here) but they couldn't graze it as it would poach the ground too much.  So they are feeding sileage indoors.  I suspect this is going to be one of the wettest Augusts on record, certainly for us.

British farmers are desperate for good weather this weekend to get in the cereal crop, otherwise 4 million tonnes could be downgraded from bread quality to animal feed due to the wet weather. Only 10% has been harvested so far.

Raining up here as well. I would still rather have the rain than a drought !!!!!!!!! But some sunshine would be nice for a couple of days.
