I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic.  However.....  have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Stanley, I saw your  "Godron.....  Who he?". What's with this "Who he?" Have you been watching too much Chinese Olympics?

Last I heard, Godron was lying on a beach at Southwold - still with his suit on according to the BBC. Cameron's somewhere in Cornwall - probably lost his bike again by now. Meanwhile there's a war starting between Russia and NATO.

Frank will first week in July, 2020 do?

I think you should all move to Perth, it is winter, 19degrees with 20 degrees forcast for the next 6 days, fine, sunny with a slight wind from the east so it is a cold wind. Still it is much better than your weather, Katie and I fly to Sydney tomorrow for her heart operation on Monday and the forcast for over there is wet, cold and 16 degrees.

Dad get your trusty mobile phone switched on so that I can message you.

Will do Mags......  Done!

Pete, 'who he' comes from the editorial comments in brackets in Private Eye.  Cameron was on R4 yesterday and Godron issued a short statement mirroring what Bush said about Ossetia and Georgia.

Reports filtering through this morning that the Chinese are bussing rentamob audiences in to some events to get bums on seats.  LOC must be watching the medal count and the spectator numbers with some gloom.  I felt sorry for that poor 14 year-old lad who came nowhere in the diving after all the hype and build-up they gave him.  His 15 minutes of fame is over for the foreseeable future.......

Maz, they're off to Sydney tomorrow and hopefully this will cure the problem with Katie's heart.  The surgeon is very optimistic and Katie is up for it.  I think they'll be away about a week or ten days.

It's still raining in Barlick.  I have walked Jack, fed him, had my breakfast, done the washing and put tea on the stove on a very low light.  I have made a unilateral decision, we are going back to bed for a couple of hours......  Glass is falling and there is no wind so I don't expect any improvement.  Definitely not summer......  Not depressed, just fed up with the weather.  Thank God I don't have to work outside in it......

I am out for lunch today. I meet up with the members of the sewing group I used to go to ( now disbandoned) about once a month. A couple of months ago we changed venue as the one we used was so cold, even in May. Now we go to a nice centrally heated garden centre. With all the plants around, even when it is throwing it down with rain  it still feels like summer. My car is still not back from the accident repairers so poor Bob is back to be being taxi driver.

In all of this dreadful weather I am happy to report that the wedding we went to in Nottingham on friday was blessed with nice weather. We were outside in the gardens of the Hall where the reception was until well after 11.00pm. Unfortunately the next day, my sister in laws BBQ for her 60th birthday, brought torrential rain in Cardiff

The trip to Nottingham was good. I was able to retrace the steps where I was born and lived until I was 3. ( helped by my Dad accute memory for addresses)The second house I lived in was a new build at the time. When Bob and I were trying to find it, I suddenly shouted 'That's it, that's the one'. I was right and I have never been to that house since I was just over 3 years of age. Its funny the road seemed a lot longer then !!!!!!!

Went to Anglesey for a weeks break last Thursday - came home today - first time we have cut a holiday short (we usually stay longer than planned).  It rained most of the day Saturday, Sunday was OK, yesterday rained on and off but last night it poured down all night - not too  good in a tin tent.  The site was full of large puddles today, I have never worn my wellies as much - so we called it a day and came home.

A few years back I worked at the junior school I used to attend (York Street C of E) I couldn't get over how much it had shrunk since I was there as a kid.....  Laughing

Gloomy, slight rain and 11C outside with a light breeze.  Feels cold.  Glass is very low.  Not a good outlook for the day.

Weather was poor for August here in Norfolk yesterday. It poured with rain in the morning, flooding in parts of the county and then last night what wind we had! Steve in Norfolk braved the weather at 10.00 pm to check on the local gossip but the pub was closed. Not a good way to run a business is it!

That's an understatement Jules if ever I heard one.  If it was bad enough to close the pubs it must have been outstanding!  As I write the sun has poked through in Barlick.....  how long for?  Temperature has staggered up to just over 60F.
