Maybe little advertised but seems to have more journey options than National Expresses into Skipton. Comparable in Journey time with coaches / express bus into Manchester-Burnley-Barnoldswick
London to Colne.
Or Colne to Huddersfield , Bradford , Halifax or East Midland Parkway.
From £1.50 single !
Megabus.com
Worth supporting(why am I saying this I want to travel for £2.50 return at some time in the future if you want to save a little bit and have a semi relaxing journey to save driving , check megabus's web site for times/ prices as they change.Departures also from Burnley , Keighley and Skipton. Service is megabus / megabus plus
Note when I waited for one departure from Colne ( Outside the Library ), it was around half hour late , due to late departure/arrival on inbound journey to Burnley , it seems that drivers hours and statutory breaks can cause a little havoc with the timetable ( although only 10mins late into London ) Passengers change from most pickup points at East Midlands Parkway onto East Midlands Train to London ( tends to be the faster service - if you want to get off at Leicester or Luton costs more as you have to buy separate ticket for those stations from East Midlands Trains ) . Advantage of the train leg is buffet bar or at seat trolley service ( Coffee around £2.60 ,compares with motorway service stations ) and you can - subject to passenger loadings have a bit of a walk around the train to strech your legs.
Downside for Barnoldswick is the lack of reasonable scheduled interchange time(it results in about 40min wait in Colne either way on some schedules ) for Pennine / B&P (Transdev) services to/from Colne - perhaps they might consider promoting a suitable conection even at the additional £1.70 or so for the single fare exceeding that of Colne down to London
