Can we have a new topic in the hobbies section for Walking / Rambling. Quite a few members enjoy this pastime, myself included. I have material to post which would best suite a Walking / Rambling topic.

Flutters, try these for starters, these are the two threads I started in the Metal Detecting section of the Hobbies group.
Summat fer Nowt
http://www.oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk/forum_topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6817&FORUM_ID=104&CAT_ID=13&Topic_Title=Summat+fer+Nowt&Forum_Title=Metal+detecting.
and Site Research
http://www.oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk/forum_topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6826&FORUM_ID=104&CAT_ID=13&Topic_Title=Site+Research&Forum_Title=Metal+detecting.
The starting up information for equipment etc is still broadly relevant, my advice would be to get one of the monthly magazines for starters, (Treasure Hunting or Searcher Magazines) and have a look at the ads for the latest detectors and prices. It's a minefield, choice of detectors depends entirely on the type of objects you are interested in and the type of ground you will be searching, if you want any more advice please ask either in one of the threads or PM me, I will certainly help if I can.
