Last night was the first of the new season's University Challenge.
Jeremy Paxman seemed unusually benign and avuncular; not at all his usual acerbic self Smile

It is not surprising. He will have read out these questons every series for the last half century.

Because the teams are new each series they do not need to dig out new questions, and so they simply repeat the old questions to a set of new teams.

Join the club Comrade. I usually do quite well but must admit I was out of my depth more than usual the other night.

Colin I stopped watching Uni Challenge when there were NO science questions or the height of a science question being' What is the name of the green colour in plants'. I always felt there were too many questions on the Arts, not a true representation of the  knowledge of University students . If we now have some science questions I may be tempted to watch

The juxtaposition of micrometer, pencil and axe alongside "underpant " does worry me rather.Confused
