As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

dads tried most things with him but the only thing that worked was an eye patch, as he kept closing both eyes! ergh not a good idea when your shooting. hes ok now but it took a while to train him to use his dominant eye and close the other.

had physio today, im being refered to the hospital for scans xrays and possibly an mri. to find out whats wrong. he doesnt think its serious but he wants a second opinion. he thinks it might have something to do with my growing so fast. but if its a torn hip capsule i might have to have an op. so lets hope its to do with my bone growth and the muscles are just too slow in catching up with my size.

back to the drawing board.

Yea I hope it is something fairly easily fixed and you don't have to have an op...I had to smile at the thought your mum would pay to have Stanley mounted and framed! There's a few on here might chip in !! Just joking!!!!
I sympathise with your brother, I play all tennis type sports with both hands, throwing the racket form one to another rather than doing a back hand... in table tennis if the ball comes to near my left hand I catch it by mistake...i even have to fight the desire to play darts with both hands.. one for each side of the board!
Probably the funniest thing i ever do is line dance...as i frequently go left when it should be right and vice versa...so after a complicated move I can end up yards away from everyone else!! people have offered to pay me to dance it makes them laugh so much!!

Belle, it's good job he's an artist and not a taxidermist!

ive had the drawings copied and they have been entered.
there is also a photographic competition, never to miss an opportunity for some cash for the car fund ive had a go at taking some photos, funny thing is i got right into it and spent ages taking photos of everthing, ive chosen my final 3, its weird as we walk these woods all the time as they are less than 10 mins walk, but looking at the photos its made me realise what a beautiful place it is, anyhow heres the final 3, what do you think?

Excellent !....but I think you have a slight leaning towards the left  (don't we all !) ...It seems to me that you might need to check your verticals/horizontals in the first two frames....

The pool looks to be going "downhill" a bit...and the avenue could be a bit the same...

But who am I to say...my seas often slope !

No good asking me Conor, I think good pics are always B&W and have either machinery or people in them! Best advice is to go to a good library and sit and look at snaps by the greats. I think Lartigue would grab you! Seek him out.

Great photo's! i am not sure I would agree with you bradders re the path going down hill to the left, as the tram like tracks seem on the horizontal..what do you think?

They look good to me. I've been taking photos for ages but Conor beats me. He has the artistic eye, whereas I lack it completely. It's like my writing which is good for reports and technical news stories but far from eloquent. So my photos are good for recording and archiving but won't win any prizes!

Please don't get me wrong....These are really good photos....

I have now checked them on Picasa and found that both are inclined to the left.......the walk ,only slightly , but the waterfall, considerably .If you adjust so that the last fall lip is horizontal, the pool then "flows" towards the viewer. and the tree trunks , just visible at the top , are nearer vertical....

Conor , if you have "Picasa" there is a facility called "straighten"...I would guess it will be on other photo manipulation programs too ...

Once again, this is NOT  negative criticism !

Good Work...

On the other hand, if you want to modify your pictures you could be doing it with The Gimp (free) on the Ubuntu Linux operating system (free) instead of using windows software! Have a look at our OGFB Ubuntu linux thread on this link (blatant publicity!!). You too Bradders, while you've been away we have been building computers and switching to Linux. If you want to know why just ask Stanley (if you've got an hour or two!)

dunno maybe they are to the left, but if id have stood any further to the left on the waterfall i would of been swimming LOL i dont have a clue what i am doing taking photos. i just took what i liked, and just hoped that if i liked it someone else would too.

i guess theres alot more to taking photographs than just pointing and shooting like i did, but i enjoyed taking them. it was a relaxing change for me
