I do, got "hooked " when I was about 7 years old and been fishing on and off ever since, 40 odd years, mostly on the local canal and reservoirs.
I addition to this forum, Calluna has just requested a new category for Boating, Canals and Fishing. Catch you around, "tight lines".

Nolic, my brother lives over in France in an old mill with a lake that used to feed the water wheel. The Carp in his lake (Common and Mirror) have given me endless sport when we've been over to visit. No fancy gear required or used. Small ledger to get the bait (anything) out and wait for the rod to bend, fantastic way to spend a day kickin back with a few beers.

We go to France most years and take a little telescopic rod , mainly for sea fishing. Never had a carp in France though once fished a small lake where dustbin lid bream were queing up to take sweetcorn off size 12 hooks tied direct to 10lb line. With no keep net though they eventually spooked but not before I had 10 or 12 good ones. Nolic
