Had lamb hotpot with garden peas last night - home made curry tonight with rice and naan bread.

hope the curry was good, just as I suspected my sauce (above) re done with the veg removed but with a bit more onion, garlic and some red wine, was absolutely delicious, why am I making all this italian sauce you ask, cos the basil plant is dying rapidly in our sub zero kitchen and I hate waste!

Belle, always a good reason for using the bits up and sometimes pushes us into new combinations we haven't tried before. I heard a snippet this morning on IPM where a woman wanted to thicken gravy but had run out of her usual powder so she chucked a banana in. Never heard of that before but I bet it was good.

What on earth was she thinking?
(oooooo that sounds downright revolting) 
I do so worry about the state of your 'innards', Stanley.
So hot today I imagine we will have yet another Salad...possibly after dark when it is slightly cooler and we can stomach food.
Have been living off Salad for a couple of months now and have not lost a pound. I should look like a pencil by now...

Maz, a rioe banana mashed up is only sweet starch! That can't possibly harm you. My stomach is fine thanks, never gives me a minute of trouble.

The curry was lovely - make plenty of sauce and freeze it Belle - saves time when you are busy. Chicken & chips tonight, I cooked a chicken on Friday to have with salad but again too much. The brisket I got will be cooked tomorrow.

Minted lamb casseroled slowly on a bed of onions and garlic. So tender it fell to bits so it got used as sandwich filling, very tasty!

Was dreaming yesterday, the brisket is rib of beef. Served tonight with mash & roast potatoes, steamed cabbage, cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips not forgetting the yorkshires and gravy.

Margaret's favoutite dinner! Steak casseroled on a bed of onions today, probably with baked beans and sliced potatoes on top. I shall not starve!

Daughter Susan's gas cooker has died on her and she has no oven. She isn't dashing for an El Cheapo replacement but is saving up for a better model. Sensible! We had a conversation yesterday about alternative cooking methods to the oven.

I hope you're adding chorizo to the chicken legs. I haven't cooked a chicken without it since you gave us the recipe!
