As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

Yes but the problem is that the hard skin is there for a reason, it stands up to the wear and tear. My hands cut very easily now they are soft.

nearly had a disaster... i made a big scratch right across Jon Bon Jovis teeth. bad day yesterday but i have managed to put it right by pushing the scratch through from the back, fewww
and i had the most disappointing exam results. i cant tell you how upset ive been. mum and dad have been ok about it although they too are disappointed. my headmaster said that i had done well considering all the things i do out of school and that i cant do everything. and that my A levels are going to be the ones i need to make count, hummpphh cheesed off
1 A    6 B's 2 C's nothing like i was projected aaarrghhhh!!!!

oh well whats done is done.... just gonna have to work harder, im off to celebrate to a party now, not that i feel like it at all!!

Morning Conor, nice to see you back. Exam results are to be expected if you have been spreading yourself a bit thin but don't worry too much, you aren't less intelligent or gifted, just bad at prioritising perhaps.

Ask yourself what the most important thing is, what position do you want to be in a year from now, and concentrate on the priorities. It will mean you might have to draw back from some activities and concentrate them on the goal. It's called Critical Path Analysis and getting it right is the basis for any project. So start a CPA chart for Project Conor over the next couple of years and stick to it. Boring and clinical I know and it means you will have to take some difficult decisions but it's the way to go forward and the best thing is that it works, it will give you the best chance of achieving your goals.

I've been arguing for years that this is one of the areas where education fails our children. CPA and Time Management are closed books to students when they get to university and so many fail to progress when they move from an environment where all the choices are managed by teachers and parents. In America they have the concept of 'Managing your own sky' and it is basically the same thing. The nearest thing to it is a school timetable, the difference is that you construct your own and apply it to all your activities including rest and sleep. Go to it Kid! I promise it works.

You haven't done anything wrong or failed, it's all part of the process of moving into being an effective adult.

A good point about time management being useful to students. I had worked in a factory, in a brewery and in a branch of Boots Chemists before I became an undergraduate (full employment, not temporary) and I already knew a little about time management. I read more about it in my first year and it made a big difference, both to my studies and to the rest of my life. It's not rocket science but you have to be disciplined and apply it.

thats all mum keeps on about. my time management and being organised. ive tried keeping a dairy of time spent doing drawing and then spend more time doing that, so then dont bother. and when she points out what im doing wrong i close my ears as its like shes nagging and i dont want to hear it all again. but as my results show maybe i should of listened but like she says its my life and if i dont want to listen and make my own mistakes, thats fine... just dont complain when it all goes wrong... think ive learnt a lesson.

anyhow new school year, only 4 subjects and this time its going to be done right, but god knows where i am going to find the time as i dont want to stop my athletics or my drawing. i will have a long hard think about what you suggest stanley and see if i can sort it all out when i get my time table next week, i could just add to that

Whoa! I think you need to stop beating yourself up.because taking on the mantel of a loser will only make you one.. and that you aint! so to coin an old song " accentuate the positive!" first of all you passed all your exams.. Well done! You may not have got the grades you wanted but that's behind you and as you say there is a clean path ahead. You already excell at Art and can make decent money at it, you have sporting prowess that can lead you in all kinds of directions and you know how to ask for and accept help. You are on your way.
People who shoot meteorically can burn out on the journey. Steady measured steps, all journeys are achieved that way.
Maybe I should be your life coach!!! ha ha!

ive finished Jon Bon Jovi. its not as good as Will Smith as the photograph the client gave me was'nt very good as it goes pixelated when i blow it up for all the fine details, she knows this and is happy but i know it could of been so much better if i could of seen more details. but here it is

Youve done well with that scratch, can't see it at all. I was reminded of a visit to Manchester Art gallery a couple of years ago where they have a room that shows restoration work going on, a very painstaking minute business would suit someone with your eye for detail, you should go and see the exhibition if it 's still on.
Hey I am your life coach now, there's no you should about it.. go and see it!

as soon as i pass my driving test im going to be all over the place belle, i dont like keep asking mum and dad to keep taking me places as they spend alot of time and money taking me to athletics but i would love to see it
as for the scratch to the teeth i put it on the window so i could see the scratch through the back and just pushed it back, i was worried doing it but as far as i was concerned it was ruined anyway so i wasnt losing anything by trying, im pleased i did now

Well done anyway Conor - can't be good at everything, and you have so much talent in other areas.  Sorry we missed you.  I was surprised at the size of MSN - thought it would be more of an old village.  Saw your school - do you go back there or to MSN & Radstock college?

Doubt there will be any age 60 plus males to answer that Conty, an epidemic of apoplexy could be occuring as we speak!
Think maybe it's not just the Xbox that's been distracting you!

Don't be too sure Belle, just because there's snow on the roof it doesn't mean the fire has gone out!

Conor, this is wonderful, not just because of the quality, subject and treatment which are all superb but because it is entirely different from the dogs and pop stars. I was beginning to wonder whether you were getting blinkered and constrained to one track. I couldn't have better reassurance. Well done, there's just as big a market for subjects like this. Superb, can I please have a high res file so I can have her on my wall? Pretty please???
