Wonderful stuff Bob. Dirty and inefficient but think of the number of people they employed. Thanks for posting them.

Lovely pic of Stephen. I can still hear him laughing at me because I wouldn't stand on the rim of Mons chimney. I know my limits and I have two pins!

Remember the paper article well, I think the mishap occurred at Kearns Mill at Cowpe....

If not mistaken it was our friendly greengrocer in Waterfoot who scaled the chimney, but sure Stephen will correct me if I'm wrong...

believe it are not i was on a job knock, ron allowed 2 days pay for this job to ladder and repair the conductor tape and rod and stip the ladders off, so i started early in the morning i was doing very well and on target to do the job in one day, there was not i say not one cloud in the sky it was a lovely day, but but but, one random nasty black cloud appeared from no where and thats when the lightening struck me, which left both my arm paralysed for 3 to 4 days. i was at the top with my leg through the ladder so i could connect the rod to the tape and thats when it happend, my work mate tommy  thomlinson came up the ladders to help me down i was in hospital for two weeks but guess... what i only got one days pay, because i did not strip my ladders off, ronnie had to go back and finish it. and to top it all of, three months later i was struck yet again, at milnrow near rochdale, what a buzz haha
