How many of you are a genius
Intelligence Test, Part 1
You have to work out what the letters mean. See No 0 as an example.
It doesn't matter if you write the answers in uppercase or lowercase, but the answers

Maz you're getting warm but no cigar. Tell me when you want the answer. You'll all kick yourselves when you see the answer. Feb, the first puzzle is pure thread cutting on a geared lathe. That's the sort of prioblem you work out every time you set the gears up for a thread. Given enough gears and patience you can cut everything.

I don't know, you lot!The Barlick Crossword puzzle could easily be completed by anyone who's spent time on this website, whether or not they're a resident. The only tricky one, I reckon, is the one about noblemen - a local football team is called The Barons. Rolls Royce engines/chocolate = Aero. See - easy if you put a bit of thought into it. Think of all the stuff that's mentioned on OGFB: Pendle Hill, Silentnight beds, website contributor (that's an anagram - Lay nets...) Jepp Hill, Letcliffe and Victory parks... I guess I'll just post the answers in full and you can all see how you missed out on a pint of Black Sheep. I would have even posted the prize in a secure plastic bag to Oz and NZ if the winner came from there. Barlick Crossword answers:

Cally, I'm truly admonished. I did do most of the Xword got stuck on the Barons and then never went back to it. If you do another one I promise to have a proper go and submit.
You obviously put a lot of work into it and I'm sorry it was not fully appreciated.

I'm afraid it was completely beyond me. I did go back and have another look but only got 18 down and 20 across.
Sorry Cally

Next one? NEXT one???I sweated blood and toiled for weeks to compile this one - and what do I get? A resounding wave of apathy. If you think I'm going to waste my precious time creating another one you're ... OFFCUMDENS PLEASE NOTE: this is Callunna in typical grumpy Barlick humour mode. She does not mean a word of the above. In fact it took about half an hour, using a piece of crossword compiling software, plus a small amount of brainpower to create the clues. She's only doing the grumpy thing to get the sympathy vote. And a pint off Kev. ... you're very much mistaken. And another thing ... Please note: you're allowed to mentally switch off at this point. This is what her partner does. Yeah, and another thing - you want to know who won the blooming puzzle, eh? Well a Scotsman would KNOW, oreyt? |
