Not a pair of gloves or hand cleaner in sight. I did this, this morning at the U3A Art group that Wendy runs.

I know the mouth is a funny shape but otherwise I am quite pleased with this as I could never draw animals of any sort. Last time I tried a cat it looked like a RAT!!

Yes but the cat's face is at an angle, turned towards us, so it would be as you have drawn it. So, very well done Sue.
Thumbs-up

The texture of the fur looks real and you've definitely captured the lustre of the eyes.

Well done Sue !!

I particularly like the whiskers..knowing how hard it is to do very fine lines with pastels...excellent.

All I can say is thank you to my two teachers, one, namely Belle , who gave me confidence to have a go and stretch myself with pastels, and the other my friend Wendy ( Margaret) who gave the instruction for this particular cat picture. and is inspirational herself

Another  is called for, my own cat  when I get time amongst all my other hobbies. But this morning is CLEANING!

Stanley I have forgotten the cleaning for a couple of weeks now. I could have drawn a cat in the dust!
However now I feel virtuous and can indulge my hobbies for  another  couple of weeks with no guilt!

I know the feeling. I often have a spell of displacement activity before starting a writing task amd perhaps a quick vacuum round when I reach a natural break.

You know when I worked I was meticulous. A good clean and doing the washing saturday morning, Bob did the shopping. No we are so often busy on a saturday it just gets a quick do when i can mamange it and a good clean every so often. Bathroom and kitchen of course are treated to a frequent clean, but as I say, I didn't retire to spend my life cleaning and having an immaculate house
