Earby and District Local History Society
The Earby and District Local History Society was founded in 1995 when six people attended a meeting at New Road Community Centre in Earby.
Membership is now ten times that and still growing. A good proportion of the members are "out of town" members who are either exiled Earbyites or have ancestors connected with the area.
The Society's area of main interest is the Ancient Parish of Thornton-in-Craven and includes Thornton-in-Craven, Earby, Kelbrook, Sough and Harden.
AIMS OF THE SOCIETY To raise awareness and foster an interest in local history and facilitate research into the heritage of Earby and District including Earby, Thornton-in-Craven, Sough, Kelbrook, Harden, Hague and Salterforth.
MONTHLY MEETINGS The Society meets on the third Tuesday of the month at New Road Community Centre, New Road, Earby (unless otherwise announced). Meetings begin at 7-30 and usually include a talk on an historical subject with local interest where possible.
Visitors are very welcome to attend.
Admission is £1 for members and £1-50 for non members including tea and biscuits .

I am just back from holiday, Stanley. Cathy is fine, but is (again )without internet at present. I'm not sure what her plans are as far as re-connecting. I'm sure she is missing you all dreadfully. I am unable to drive at present, (due to a broken arm) so haven't been able to catch up with her face to face.
get your people to phone my people and we will do lunch...MAZ |

Give her our love and tell her that she has to get back online or the site will probably vaporise!

I spoke to her briefly yesterday and she is fine. (she can always spend time on the library computers if she gets desperate). If I could drive, I could take my laptop and mobile internet around there.....give her a quick fix on OG...

As long as she knows we haven't forgotten her.
