Had a dry walk to Letcliffe yesterday! However, this morning glass is up at 29.2" but it's still raining. The ground is full of water and any rain is running straight off. Butts Beck even higher. No danger but the biggest flow I've seen for a long time.

Agreed Belle, miserable at noon yesterday so no Letcliffe, just a walk round Valley Gardens. There may be hope, glass is rising, it's over 29.5" today and damp but not actually raining. Perhaps we have some better weather coming in?

Lucky you being able to see flat grey clouds! I've been in those clouds for days now and that's not much fun. Going to walk down to Kelbrook this morning and see if I can get beneath them.

Wendy, we had a good day in Derbyshire but I noted that low cloud was shrouding the tops.... Glass still rising at 29.6" and it's dry. Could be a decent day and a Letcliffe walk!

7C outside but dry, definitely a nip in the air!  Glass at 29.5", haven't heard a forecast but broken cloud so we might have a bright day.

Windy but bright and sunny here. Febby has just mown the lawns for the third time in a fortnight, as it is growing like mad at present (tee hee...plus I helped it along with fertiliser).
My Roses are blooming, my impatiens are flowering their heads off and all of my bedding plants are starting to burst in to colour.
Plus we have two families of birds with their young making full use of our birdbath facilities. The birds are still being fed by the parents, and can only manage short ( rather uncoordinated) flights.
Have to keep cleaning the birdbath out, as the young 'uns don't know they shouldn't poo in their drinking water.

Chilly here Maz! Just back from my early morning inspection. Sky clear as a bell and cooler than it was earlier but we should see the sun!

Slight frost covering the cars this morning, but it is a bright, lovely autumn day with plenty of sun.

Nice day here as well Moh. More cloud this morning and the glass has fallen back to 29.3". However, the cloud looks to be high and is perhaps breaking up. Dry at the moment and doesn't feel like rain.

Frost on the grass and hedges as I walked both spaniels this morning. Lovely and bright. Hardly a cloud in the sky here

Sorry guys, another lovely one here....heading for 28 degrees tomorrow...and 31 degrees on Wednesday (which will be a shock to many a system).

Baby birds are starting to annoy me a bit. I don't mind cleaning out the birdbath morning and evening, but they have taken to sitting on the clothes line and the backs of my outdoor chairs...with their backsides facing the wrong way. So I have wrapped some flappy plastic bubble wrap on the tops of the chairs to deter them and have bought a black metal cut out of a cat to keep them off my washing.
so far, so good.
See pic below...
