On one occasion we had gone to bed and heard a loud bang from downstairs. Having been persuaded to investigate, I reluctantly made my way into the kitchen. We have an aga with a mantleshelf above it and on the shelf is very heavy antique brass shop weight, this had been thrown onto the floor. I say thrown because if it had simply fallen, which would have been impossible due to the weight, it would have hit the cast iron top of the cooker and at the very least smashed the enamel, but it missed the cooker and skidded across the floor. Needless to say the weight now lives much lower to the ground.
We regularly see misty vapour passing from one room and up the stairs, and quite often, you can come down the stairs and hear the low murmur of voices which fades away as you enter the room.
I have to say though that it has never bothered us in the least......

Ah , the do you believe in ghost saga. Why yes I do . I once stayed in a supposedly haunted house when I was helping in a holiday home for the disabled one summer. Upstairs was supposed to be haunted . I went upstairs to my dormitory one day and heard eerie noises and shouts from the corridor /hall way. I was definitely the only person around as we had just come back from a trip and I shot upstairs on our return as I needed the loo. I certainly needed it after that . I have never run so fast down stairs in my life

Belle, Yourgoodself and t'other artists would be most welcome.
Johnny Big Block notwithstanding, Haworth's a reet gradely 'oil--excepting that is for " THE JOLLY CLAMPER "who is bad news.

Hi Sue / Belle,
Are we going to meet on the main car park in Haworth, I think Belle suggested the car park adjacent to the Rectory at the top of the village. How about twelve noon?? If you would like to follow us over Sue, we can rendevous in Waterfoot and head over to Haworth via Burnley, Colne and over to Haworth on the Laneshawbridge Wycoller Road....

Had occasion to go to Haworth on tues..apparantly the car park at the top by the rectory is not the one that clamps (so said the librarians in the museum)..that's the one opposite the edinburgh woolen mill...so avoid that one! The one by the rectory costs £1.80 for two hours, and doesn't give change...think it's about £3.50 for the whole day...one thing i did think as I walked around is that some of the nicest vistas would be impossible to sit and paint as the pavements are so narrow and there's so many folk...well when i was there a large portion of Japan descended on the town. But I am sure we can find somewhere. So 12 in the car park if that's agreed?
