Good morning to everyone,

I am brand new to this site and only just registered this morning. My family tree has taken me from Halifax to Newchurch and now to Barnoldswick. I have been over Barnoldswick recently to research my family tree in the library and found out masses of new information on my family.

If anyone would have any information on Cryer's from Barnoldwick I would be very grateful for any information and in the meantime, I am going to search through the forums on this website. I have already noticed a few bits of info so am back to being excited about what I might find!!

Speak to you soon
thanks
Penny

Hello everyone,

Im still doing my family tree and feel im at the stage now where it may be as far as im going to get as I continually come up with dead ends. The oldest Cryer I know to be true is Thomas Cryer who was baptised in St Marys, Barnoldswick on 11 Aug 1706. He married Ellen Fearnside in 1733 at Ghyll Church.

Hi father was thomas cryer married to Alice Wilkinson. I believe Thomas was born in Barnoldswick around 1680. I think his father was Thomas cryer who was married to Ann Ellis but others have suggested his father was George and they were from Aireton. My dates seem to fit much better but Im really not sure. Ive been to Barnoldswick Library where I did get a lot of information, and am going to go back to make sure i havent missed anything.  Ibelieve the oldest parish records for ghyll church were stolen or damaged and just wondered if anyone had any ideas where I could look for any information around this time. I just want to make sure ive checked everywhere before I give up on this side of my tree

Many thanks
Penny
