What attracted my attention, is that next month (July) there are five Fridays, five Saturdays and five Sundays. A situation that only arises every 823 years.
Make the most of it.

Thank you all for your encouraging words, much appreciated.
Hopefully it will be a good time to get a new job, being a new financial year all the companies will have fresh new budgets.
Hoping so anyway.
The rest of the office (30 people) will supposedly be let go at the end of November. Only one's offering jobs from then till about mid February are usually department stores.
All thru the fields and meadows gay .... Enjoy

Cathy, I hate that phrase 'let go' as if you've been struggling to ecape!
What grabbed me was that despite the weather forecasts for changeable conditions the Simpson Brothers at Bancrofts started mowing for hay on Monday. At lunchtime yesterday they had three meadows felled, two of them strewn (not often you get a chance to use that lovely old word) abroad. There has been no rain, the forecast looks better up to the weekend. You've got to hand it to them, smart kiddies!
A very light shower one hour later. Fingers crossed!

Wendy I left it a little simple on purpose for simple people (see above post ) not for you.
That was simple in the meaning of keeping it non technical. I know your not technical Bradders, and as I offered our son would write it up technically,but simple if anyone wanted.
Your always trying to be clever with regards to my posts, that's why you can't understand what I write. Your always looking for the snide remark, when I disagree with Stanley at least it is with regard to a subject matter nothing else.

The documentary last night on Afghanistan caught my attention, how we got it so badly wrong from the start. See Stanleys hero General Dannat, now Lord hadn't a clue, more interested in his career than on the objective.
Breathtaking incompetence from our Senior Military, and that is from Petraeous. Seems like our changing out of the Brigade structure every six months led to the failure in Helmand, with the next Brigade Commander doing his own thing.

Readers who did not see this , may have been wondering why I described my Busking as entertainment in the interim , for no apparent reason .
Is it any wonder that I decided that I have now "had enough" , when I am later described as "Simple".... Your explanation "Simply" does not wash.
PS I was a Technical Salesman ,UK Sales Manager and Departmental Head for close on 25 years , in the metal forming and plastics industry...all automotive linked ........(Air Products,Schuler Presses and BASF).....aah?

My attention was grabbed when Mrs Tiz just now showed me a letter from the bank, sent to inform us that we had 12p interest gross, less 2p tax, therefore 10p net!

We have a bit of a problem with our TV. It's a slimline, flat screen thingy which is less than 16 months old, but it occasionally decides not to switch on from the remote. Hubby (an electronics engineer for most of his working life) contacted the manufacturer, downloaded software meant to fix the problem.... which didn't, so he decided to open up the TV and have a look. Finding that there was only one pcb inside, he ordered a replacement on Ebay then put the TV back together so we could watch it last night. Today he heard a rattling inside when he moved it, opened it up.....and there was the pair of specs he had been searching for!

"See Stanleys hero General Dannat," Read my posts more carefully and don't put words in my mouth. I never said Dannatt was a hero, just quoted him as an authority.
As for Afghanistan, go back and read my posts. I have been saying what the programme said time and time again and you've said I know nothing about the subject. Time for an apology? Breathtaking!
Wendy, I know a few good engineering stories about that syndrome!

I received the same information in a chain-mail.
Your 'Make the most of it.' is a not-to-be-taken-seriously comment ...... Right?
Of course it is ...... The next time this will happen is 2022.
The 5 x 3 consecutive days arrangement however is not restricted to July of this year or any other year for that matter ...... Any 31-day month starting on a particular day will contain 5 of that day plus 5 each of the following two days.
Some other information I received in the same chain-mail concerned four particular dates in 2011 - 1st of January, 11th of January, 1st of November and 11th of November ...... When written numerically, they transpose as 1/1/11, 11/1/11, 1/11/11 and 11/11/11 respectively ...... This situation arises every 100 years.
No disputing that.
