I seemed to have a day of sausages and eggs. You can get 15 Lion mark eggs at Chaudrie's for £1-15.

Banana, like marmalade, goes well in cakes doesn't it.

Bacon buttie for lunch. Black pudding, beans and eggs for tea. Half a black pudding left.....

Dinner guests tonight and tomorrow night.
Son and step-son tonight, and 'by request' it is Chicken Schnitzel, Roast Spuds, Roast Carrots, Baby Peas, Cauliflower Cheese and Gravy.
Tomorrow night's guest - step-son number two- has requested 'anything with Dumplings' and he is very much in to Soup at the moment, so it will be Chicken and Veg Soup...with Dumplings.

I actually forgot to have lunch today, but as it is coming up to 4.30pm, I shall wait for dinner now. (Often forget to eat when I am busy. It won't do me any harm.)

Oh...must clarify that we don't relegate our children to different nights. We have to work around their very busy schedules...

We had ours a few weeks ago.  The meal last night was super - roast lamb, yorkshires, new & mashed  potatoes, roast parsnips, garden peas, cabbage lightly fried with garlic, chilli & ginger (must try that one but not as many chillies - it was a bit hot), gravy, mint sauce & cheese and biscuits to follow.  Jayne grows her own chillies so uses them quite a lot.

Moh, you and your family are an island of culinary excellence!

I have to confess that I fell from the path of rightiousness last night. Don't ask me why but I bought a small packet of chocolate digestive biscuits and ate the lot! My flesh must be weak........  I shall try to do better in fiture!

Shepherds' Pie last night with some of the lamb shoulder I cooked on Monday. Got the small joint at Bury Market last week, we had it hot on Monday, last night, and hubby has had a sandwich with the remainder today. Again good value. Minced meat & onion pie tonight with chips & mushy peas.

Finished the casserole but also started a veggie soup with broth bits, onions, Bovril and seasoning. Then I topped it up with spuds. Noticed how nice they were, the variety is Allians, nice texture, golden colour and don't mush easily.

Re Stanley's remark - I made sure all three girls could cook, bake, iron, etc. so they were prepared for running a home.  Tonight we are having gammon.

My mother did the same for me Moh. Bring back proper Domestic Science! In Barlick they used to have the classes at the gas showrooms in Skipton Road.

Veggis soup improves, chucked some cooked sausage in to bulk it. It will finish today at lunchtime. Butcher's Day so I fancy pie and peas for tea!

Pork chop and roasted beetroot last night.

A chicken and spinach curry tonight, made last night.  Often prefer a curry the day after.  Will warm the cockles after the bonfire and fireworks on the beach tonight, and soak up the several pints of real ale I'll swill down me in the local on the way back.

Funny that, I got beetroot to roast for Sunday's dinner.  Hake, new potatoes & garden peas tonight with a hollandaisse sauce.
