I posted this in another thread it is Lancs/Yorks related.
1837 Registration District Clitheroe. Birth in theSub District of Whalley. In the Counties of Lancaster & York . The only other certificate I have related to this 1890 Todmorden in the Counties of York & Lancaster, only difference I can see are the Counties are reversed ie Lancs/York on the Clitheroe/Whalley cert. York/Lancs on the Tod one. Did they share registration costs I wonder for just Border Towns and Villages or was this the norm for Lancashire/Yorkshire across both counties ???
