Roopy, was it a private message? If so, who was the sender? There are a couple of new mwmbwrs with no details, he might be back. If anyone gets a PM please mention the name of the sender so we can lock him/her up. It may be time to specify certain minimum details for registration, I never trust people who give nothing more than a pseudonym.

Certainly not.My offer of marriage, accommodation and access to all my financial details were given to him purely as a gesture of goodwill in the interests of international relations. I'm still waiting to hear back from him though... |

Did anyone else apart from BK have a look at the scambuster site Marcia quoted? It's hilarious.

All joking apart, the 'Nigerian' scam is bad news. It appears that it is being run largely by the Russian Mafia and it is quite amazing the number of people who have fallen for it and indeed have been exposed to dangerous situations when they got to the point of meeting the people face to face. Best thing to do is ignore them and just delete the messages.

I was wondering why the 'Russian Mafia' and not their Italian cousins were getting the blame for this scam, then I remembered that the Italian Mafia were to busy fixing the Italian football season so they must have sub-contractored it out

The Russian mafia had their fingers in Portuguese time share as far back as the early nineties, so by now they will have their fingers in many more illegal 'pies'

Up early for the longest day, slept 6 hours and then from 9-12. It suits me, finish the coffee, walk into the town and then in the workshop for a while with the flywheel. Retirement is great especially when you live on your own, Jack likes the way I sleep, it suits him as well.

Two years ago i walked up Pendle hill for sunrise on this longest day. Started off quite early to be at the top before the sun came up. It was fantastic and one of the most awe inspiring memories!

I spent solstice at Stonehenge a couple of years ago. Fantastic, andd really glad I did it as I think all Englishmen and women should do it at least once! I was really impressed at the cross-section of people there - ages, ethnicity etc.
