Good for you Cloggy, I wish you well! Glass falling, 28.7" and we are warned of the possibillity of what could be the worst equinoctial storms since 1987. We shall see but it wouldn't surprise me! I gide Malty and her genealogists round Barlick this afternoon. Fingers crossed for reasonable weather!

sorry Belle, too many UK relatives beat you to it!
If it's any consolation, although today is hot and sunny; and tomorrow will be; I reckon that by Wednesday we'll get our share of the hurricane tail-end.
cheers,
cloggy

It's cleared up a bit, Malty might bring good weather with her. Must go and scrub up!

It is so close and humid. Just taking the garden furniture in ahead of the gales.

We have been battening down the hatches too Moh, the gales will be the first real test for my new polytunnel. I'm spending tomorrow afternoon on a fundraising stall for HAPPA at Towneley Park's Heritage & Woodland Day. I'm hoping the wind waits till we get the marquee down at the end of the day!

The rain threatened yesterday but Malty brought good weather with her. Glass falling, 28.6" dry and breezy at the moment. Wind forecast to strengthen during the day and tonight. Could blow a change of weather in?

Glass down to 28.4"but no signs of high wind as yet (unless I missed them during the night!). Raining gently and warm. Perhaps the low has moved north since the last forecast. Latest forecast gives gales for us later today. Better news is that from Wed/Thurs onwards we might have a spell of higher pressure from the continent.

We got the wind, very blustery but not serious. Trees were roaring as we went up Letcliffe ysterday but rain kept off, I dried my bedding outside! Glass rising quickly, 28.7" this morning as high pressure moves in for a while from the continent. Could mean a couple of nice days. One of the things I have noted over the years is that after a gale at this time of the year we often get a spell of good weather.

Just domestic cleanliness Cathy.... (Really!)
Jack and I went for our afternoon sleep and at one point I was woken at about 3pm by a big wind and rain slattering onto the bedroom window. We had a dry walk up Letcliffe just in time! Glass still rising, at 29". Wind has dropped but it's raining at the moment.

Glass rising, 29.3" Perhaps it's time to wash the cover of the sofa? Should stand a chance of drying on the washing line.

Dried the incredibly heavy sofa cover outside so it must have been a good day. What struck me was the low mist and heavy dew with a nip in the air. Back end!
Glass dithering and fallen a bit to 29.1" . Dry at the moment and cool, we'll see.....
