I went up Letcliffe today in the sunshine with the birds singing and only a light breeze from the NW to spoil things so I decided you were right and it's probably about time we started to be optimistic. However..... have you seen the forecast for Easter?

Really Springy here today, cold but with bouts of warm sunshine... ah remind me of the first rounders game of the term in the field behind Fence school!

Do you think it was a bloke that designed girl's sports gear?

You got it right Belle. It was the blue knickers........ Remember that 60 years ago this was high strength erotica, I often wondered how the designer got away with it.....

Bottle Green for the Accrington Girls High School, not that I was looking mind you. It just happened to be next door to our school

How did they ever think that we could get to the pocket in the knickers to get the hanky out eh?
I think there must have been something going strangely awry with the person who designed knickers with pockets in.

We never had pockets in our sports knickers. Actually, I can't specifically recall any special knickers at all for sport. We had a sleevlees short (figure hugging) tunic thingy....and I think we used to wear very short bike shorts with it. A terrible thing when your memory goes....I hated sport with a vengence so the only thing my knicker pocket would have had in it is a sick note. Everyone looked pretty dreadful in their sports uniform as I recall. I think a 90 year old virgin spinster designed it.

Cold in Barlick this morning with a promise of rain or sleet.
Do lady tennis players still shove spare balls up their knicker bottom? (be very careful how you answer this one......)

As far as popping balls up ones knickers during tennis, I would be more likely to tuck a couple down my top. I suppose I am used to reduced visibility after all these years!

We used to shove a hankie up our knicker legs when playing sport - we didn't have pockets - we had thick navy shorts with no pockets in either.
