This and the previous picture show typical O&M cast window and decorative parts......There are many rain chanel covers in the streets of Wadebridge  which are theirs and I know of two ranges and a mangle !

Many towns of reasonable size had an ironfounder, cast iron was such a cheap and easy tecnology to make durable artefacts. I'm following one at the moment, the old Ouzledale Foundry in Longfield Lane in Barlick. This of course later became the modern foundry at Long Ing and they are still going strong making domestic stoves.

...and here is the postcard to Oatey & Martin that got us going on this. Postmarked 11th March 1937 and with King Edward VIII stamps (he didn't last as long as his stamps).

J  Dunstan was a man of few words too !...

Even the address is brief and to the point .......Although he did  put  "Iron Founders"  just to be safe ....Brilliant !

Brad, they used small pieces of paper for letters and got to the point. I've noted that often in old letter books. Sort of early texting!
