As there seems to be quite a bit of artistic talent around here, I thought I would start a pencil sketch section .....

Conor, there's a programme about Stephen Fry on Sky Arts tonight. Might help you with your drawingg as he's talking about his bi-polar disorder. Nolic

oh nolic, i just looked up the programme on stephen fry on aol. its so sad, he talks about killing himself and thinks he still might one day. how terrible to feel that sad. i hope he gets all the help and care he needs, i guess being rich and famous doesnt bring you everything!
. its made me feel sick, ive studied every wrinkle and laugh line in his face for months now and i just cant believe behind those eyes are such depression, my heart goes out to him

Belle ...Fox Talbot decided to spend time on fixing an image photographically after he realised that he was rubbish at using the "Camera Lucida" ( a prismatic device that projects a vitual image onto the sketch pad in daylight !)
Interesting little bits of kit which can still occasionally be found at antique emporia ( I'd love to find one a t a boot fair again !)

I wonder if they look as sad out in the wild? Love the texture of the skin round the nose.

It's lovely but somehow a bit unreal, and suddenly I was reminded of Eeyore or whatever that sad donkey was called in Whinnie the pooh! perhaps it just needs a setting.

i dont think im going to do a setting belle, i was planning to leave it white, but never say never. i will decide when i have finished it. i got at least another couple of days work left to do yet.
i have been working solid on this all day, but its taking ages getting all the skin right, hopefully when all of his skin is done all over his body he will look more real. fingers crossed.
ive been more concerned that i have got his feet right, as he is slightly raising his left leg (right front to veiwer) does that look right to you?
